Colassal choke by the Bruins. Wow. How do you blow a 3-0 series lead THEN a 3-0 lead in Game 7?!?! EPIC FAIL is right! Holy sh!t! It sickens me to see the Flyers advance the way they did here to the ECF. Bruins flat out blew it. Third team ever to comeback from an 0-3 deficit in a 7-game series. Toof 35-years for the Flyers to join that history.

I just have a BAD feeking the Flyers are going to beat up the habs but good in this series. Flyers in 5.

God I hope I am wrong on this one....

I could give a rats ass now for the ECF as I hate both teams. rooting for the WCF all the way now to the SCF and to win the SCF. GO Blackhawks!!! Even the Sharks if they can pull off the WCF series win. UGH....

Lots of people on this board follow the Yankees and Mets, the Giants and the Jets. By your own standards, you should hate almost everyone here.

NZT overreacted - no doubt about it. But your argument doesn't make sense because there is no NJ alternative to the NY football or baseball teams.

Jesus H Christ, there are MANY alternatives to being a mindless dumbass and just "going with the flow" and supporting the Giants or Jets just because "my Dad did"

That's sad.

The West is winning the Cup.

Nah, give it to India.

The gutless performance by the Bruins reminded me of another team whom shall remain nameless :whistling:

At least the Bruins haven't been ousted in the first round for three years in a row. I guess they have that going for them..

No, they've just failed to get past the second round in their last 12 playoff appearances, which have come over the last 17 seasons. Other than that they have plenty of memories to hang their hats on.

I was being sarcastic in my comments. I know the Bruins suck and I wasn't trying to say they're good. I just think it's rediculous with this roster to underperform the way the Devils have, and it pisses me off as a Devils fan to see them flop out the past three seasons with barely a whimper.

I haven't been giving it much thought over the past few weeks but watching tonight's game just rekindled those feelings of frustration. That's all.. so i was sounding off.

The turning point of the series was Krejci's injury. That made the Bruins a 1-line team (except for the first period of game 7 when they were a 2-line team) versus the Flyers 3 complete lines. JVR makes that 3rd line completely. Its the SAME fvckING PROBLEM the Devils had versus the Flyers where the Devils had 1 maybe 2 lines versus the Flyers 3 complete lines. Leighton had to make 2 medium tough saves after the first period while giving 3 posts.

Whatever happens both Chicago and San Jose will BOTH roll Philly if they come out of the east. All of Philly's advantages are negated by both Chicago and SJ and the goaltending is at best even in the case of Chicago or a slight advantage in the case of San Jose.

You're forgetting that the Flyers didn't have Gagne, Carter (their top goal scorer this year), Ian Laperriere OR Leighton to even start this series. Yes losing Krejci definitely hurt the Bruins but getting Gagne back (4 goals in last 4 games) was the other reason they Flyers did what they did. Gagne scored the OT winner in game #4 and then the winner tonight. If he doesn't come back this series was probably over in four games.

Eh, I say with our without Gagne the Flyers win this series 9 out of 10 times. The Flyers plyed better all series. I don't know how they ended up down 3-0.

I went out to the movies after the first period.... BUT... just in case I did DVR the game and I'm watching it now.... and the one thing that is DRIVING ME NUTS in this game so far is:

WHEN WILL COACHES IN THIS GODDAMN LEAGUE LEARN YOU CAN'T SIT BACK AND HOLD ON TO A LEAD???? The Bruins played give-up hockey from the start of the fluke goal in the first... it's ridiculous!!!

Do we really need to see all the scum celebrating in the in-breeding center??? no thanks... fast forward :P

And I wish we had a coach with the stones like Lavoliette to say "we're gonna win this" while on the bench talking to the Vs. peeps during the 2nd

As much as it annoys me it is funny how this game mirrored the entire series in essence

and PS...fvck you NBC and NHL for being gutless and not giving us Sharks and Hawks TONIGHT like it should be!!!!

This comeback likely would have never happened if the Flyers had played a team in the first round who actually gave a sh!t and made a concentrated effort to win. Slasher72 was taking some heat in this thread but I totally agree that it is a little frustrating to see this type of comeback while the team you love and support can't be bothered with getting "excited" for a fvcking playoff series. Obviously we have quite a bit more to hang our hats on over the last 15+ years but in 2010, in real time, this Devils team is an absolute joke compared to this Flyers team. Skill wise they're a toss up I guess, but as far as desire and hunger to win is concerned, both teams might as well be on different planets. With that being said I sincerely hope that their run ends in the ECF. It would be nice to see Gio have another chance to play for the Cup.

Thank You. And yes, I'd like to see Gio win it with Montreal. I am pulling for them the rest of the way. Should they lose, I'm rooting for Chicago. If Philly somewow wins it all (which wouldn't surprise me, especially how Laviolette has them playing) I have to give credit where it's due and tip my hat to them. They're playing inspired hockey right now and I only wish I could see my Devils play with that much hunger, speed, and passion.

Of course they have more good lines than we do, and that's Lou's job to ensure that the coach has more than 1 decent line, but regardless...when it mattered most our guys came out flat and caved in on home ice for three years in a row. Right now Philly is doing just the opposite and I wish our guys could observe and apply a little of that same determination next season.

Speaking of our players, to bow out in front of your fans for the past several years shows lack of character (at least for the so-called leaders on the team not named Parise or Brodeur). I know the team has accomplished alot during the 90's and have been "Kings of the Regular Season" for most of the 2000's. But where does that get you? I'm sorry.. maybe called me a spoiled fan, but I won't accept this team getting into the first round and then getting overpowered by lesser opponents and say "oh well, it could be worse". That's a loser's mentality. If any of the players or coaches or management on this team have such thoughts then they should do a major gut check. I know Lou doesnt have that mentality, but I think he also has to realize that what worked in the pre-lockout NHL doesn't necessarily apply anymore. If he refuses to adjust due to his stubborness (which he does have, let's be honest), then he should be evaluated too. The Devils are nearing a cross-roads of sorts. Hopefully they'll get it right and make the necessary corrections. Lou might have made alot of bad moves in recent years (i.e. Malakhov, McGillis, Rolston, etc.) but he is one of the best in the business. I hope he can be a little flexible and adjust according to the "new NHL"'s way of doing things and get it done.

So much blow harding going in here. "I Won't accept this team..." What does that even mean? It's just empty-rhetoric - you're going to watch next season.

Devils 'effort' I'm really sick of hearing about it, the talent was there - Philly is that good. We are not that good.

Philly is an good team, but i mean all this winning in the playoffs will make next season intresting. More orange at the rock, more people wanting to go see them down there, yadda yadda yadda. I hope the habs just cream them, but Hal Gil vs Pronger doesnt seem like a great match up like it should be due to hall gill not being able to handle the puck lol

Philly believes in themselves. They easily wiped out the Devils but that's because the Devils weren't good enough. Boston gave them a struggle but then Boston wasn't good enough but better than the Devils. Boston could have beat the Devils. Now they play the Habs and that should be a good series. I would like to see the Habs win for Gomez and Gionta. For a final I would like the Blackhawks vs the Habs. That series would be great for hockey.

Chicago vs SJ 1-1 going into the 3rd. The Devils wouldn't have been able to keep up with these teams they have played a full 40 and still keeping the pace 5 minutes into the 3rd. Terrific hockey.
