I still remember watching Blake Griffin last year. He is a beast. To bad he isn't playing this year.

The boldened games are my case against Kentucky. Yeah, some people can view this as "ability to win in the clutch", but I see it as a team letting too many *bad* teams stick around with them. They're great, no doubt, but based on their track record.. whether it was because of mental lapses or a lack of team cohesiveness, they have had some games to raise red flags. I have them in my final 4, but that's it.

And I don't buy into the "freshmen don't win championships" theory. Damn good players do, and that's what UK has in Wall and Cousins.

I'm going by what I'm watching; that time and time again this "elite" team has let teams like North Carolina (who, all told, wasn't a contender for more than 2 weeks). But to get 6 wins, you need alot more than "the most talented team". Look at Duke in 2006 (and duke in 1997 for that matter). The 06 team had BY FAR the most talent, incredible leadership from All-American's JJ Redick and Sheldon Williams, awesome supporting players like Sean Dockery, Lee Melchioni, and amazing freshman in McRoberts and Paulus. But they had a problem, all year, of letting mediocre teams "back in" to games. I don't think this UK team is a fraud, but I don't see them as a powerhouse. You can't bring up early season games, in my opinion. Yes, they should have blown Miami and Sam Houston State out of the water. But the core of their team (Wall, Cousins) are freshmen. Those were some of their first collegiate games, so I think they can get a little slack there. Now, Wall is a top 5 player in the nation, and if Cousins isn't, he's damn near close. Yes, they barely beat UConn and UNC, both of whom had terrible seasons by their standards, but at the time, both were ranked and still considered dangerous teams. Tennessee is a damn good tournament team, so there's no problem losing to them, its damn near impossible to go undefeated. The South Carolina loss is inexcusable, but that is the last thing on UK's collective mind.
And I don't buy into the "freshmen don't win championships" theory. Damn good players do, and that's what UK has in Wall and Cousins.

And Arkansas-Pine Bluff beat Winthrop in the "Who's Gonna Get Raped by Duke" game.

They have the most top flight talent of any team in their starters. They should be getting more respect.

I wonder, would a bracket that picked all upsets out of the second round do better than one that was all seed victories? What a crazy year...

Then Ohio State lost.
Then Kansas State lost.
Then Kentucky lost.
And now Duke may lose. Fvck.
Anywho...I'm happy with Wake, to a degree. Great game against Texas, and losing to Kentucky is respectable, but I really wish they could've lost by... like, less than 30.

I guess you can't blame Duke for wanting to play there, though. They're a ridiculous 18-1 in that building.
