There has to be a lot more to that 1.2 million. Player bonuses for reaching 20, 30, 40 goals etc, because the union hates Brodeur for not holding out.. and now Kariya has just stiffed the Ducks 6 million offer for 1.2 million..

Well Paul's just pissed away all the PR he got from that heroic goal in Game 6.

Playing as a team, fine, PK, but again, Paul and Teemu don't like to go to the net.. I think they'll get another depth defenseman, they already got Skrastins and they may try for Calle Johansson or re-sign Bryan Marchment... the question becomes, how much do Sakic, Foote, and Blake have left in the tank?

Kariya's contract must be incentive laden if he signed for 1.2 million.

That's a real kick in the nuts for the Ducks since they were offering him a re-structured contract of 6 million a season. All I can think of is he didn't think the Ducks were good enough to win a Cup, which would go against everything he's said about the Duck organization since he signed the 10 Million a year contract.

That's just nuts! He could have stayed with the Ducks for a lot more than that . . . and he's chosen in the past to stay with them . . . I'm totally confused on why he would leave the Duckies for 1.2mil????
