Saving Roy's $$$, adding these two guys, they are in such a position to trade Tanguay or even Hejduk for some top quality goaltender.

Well Paul's just pissed away all the PR he got from that heroic goal in Game 6.
Playing as a team, fine, PK, but again, Paul and Teemu don't like to go to the net.. I think they'll get another depth defenseman, they already got Skrastins and they may try for Calle Johansson or re-sign Bryan Marchment... the question becomes, how much do Sakic, Foote, and Blake have left in the tank?

Hmmm...Don't ask don't tell much?
Maybe they'll creep out the rest of the team sufficiently to make the avs play season long like they did in this years playoffs even!
I'm here for the party

That's a real kick in the nuts for the Ducks since they were offering him a re-structured contract of 6 million a season. All I can think of is he didn't think the Ducks were good enough to win a Cup, which would go against everything he's said about the Duck organization since he signed the 10 Million a year contract.

"He has no ego," says Lou Lamoriello, general manager of the New Jersey Devils. "I don't think he has a selfish bone in his body. It gets infectious with people around him, but that's Joe. Having him here was something very special."

And the simple truth is this -- before and after Joe Nieuwendyk, this franchise has not been as good. Yes the same could be said for others, but Nieuwendyk's effect on his team, on his team's best players, on the fans and in the community can only be compared to, well, what Jarome Iginla is doing now in Calgary. It's not wrong... I keep staring at the phone at times wishing it would ring... that doesn't happen either! Is it wrong for me to keep on refreshing the front page of TSN.ca in hopes of seeing that the Devils have re-signed Joe?

Maybe he needed to change tax brackets?"The source said Kariya had specific reasons for signing the relatively low contract figure, but did not elaborate."

NJDEV25...He really may have been unhappy...That's just nuts! He could have stayed with the Ducks for a lot more than that . . . and he's chosen in the past to stay with them . . . I'm totally confused on why he would leave the Duckies for 1.2mil????

That is the scariest Top 2 lines you can have. Too bad their 3rd and 4th lines are sh!t and their goaltending is well below average as of now so it could all even out.

I know exactly how you feel, RD. I'm hoping that somehow this is all good for Joe staying with the Devils. Don't know how, but I'm hoping. Is it wrong for me to keep on refreshing the front page of TSN.ca in hopes of seeing that the Devils have re-signed Joe?
