...poster claims to have a friend whos father know Kovalchucks agent's close partner and he was told by his friends father that they are just sorting the details out.

That was from the NYPost report that everyone picked up. After that, everyone's gone missing and nothing's been reported and the deal hasn't (apparently) been finalized.

Yeah just to clarify I was just reporting the report. Not reporting that the report confirmed the original report, which was reported as fact.

Maybe if enough media outlets report it, Kovalchuk and Grossman will start to believe it. That, or they'll feel silly trying to refute it and decide to play along.
