Bob Sheppard was often referred to as the Yankee Stadium "Voice of God", don't go around correcting people without knowing all of the facts. Thanks for stopping in to show some respect, you Mutt piece of trash.

The first game he ever announced featured Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra and Ted Williams. The guy has seen it all.

Rest in peace.

I'm not sure how Bob Murphy ever got into the conversation, but the story behind the "Voice Of God" was that Bob Sheppard actually made a trip to Boston and announced Reggie Jackson when he came to bat, causing Reggie to refer to him as the "Voice of God" in a post-game news conference.

I'm not sure what you're referring to, as I know approximately 0 Mets lore, but if you got a story, bring it up.

You're both wrong. It was John Facenda. :)

But I enjoyed Bob Murphy and Bob Sheppard tremendously. Two men who were great at what they did.
