he's that dumb?
I'd like to see one day where there wasn't a parade of excuses for Kovalchuk. you guys aren't going to lose your Devils fan card if you say something negative about Kovy.
I'll start. He's fvcking sucked this year, plays half the time like he doesn't give a sh!t, and David Clarkson is jealous that god didn't give him that talent, because otherwise, they're basically the same player. except Clarkson won't shy away from contact like a little girl.

It's not all him though. You can't deny the fact he's playing with mediocre offensive players, that don't mesh with his skills, and for some reason he's being slotted on the right point on the PP which doesn't really help him out either.

so, you're telling me Kovalchuk can't execute a system (the same system they played last year), where you take a breakout pass and try to stretch it up the ice, and enter skating?

Clarkson is a douche, and just look at the Power Play. The players do what they are told, and what they're being told to do just isn't working. You seem to think Kovy is just not understanding the system...well then I guess everyone else (EXCEPT TEDENDBY) doesn't understand it either, since no one is scoring any goals.

as for the other players not scoring, where are the other scorers? throw out Arnott's line, who else in this lineup, other than Kovy, is a scorer? Rolly? maybe 3 years ago. Zajac, no. Zubrus, for as much I like him, no. Clarkson, obviously not. Vas?
THe overarching fact is that Kovy just doesn't work that hard most of the time, and we don't have any players that can make it easier for him.

he's walking himself to the right point. there is no right point, they play umbrella.

They are all working really hard out there but its just not falling in their favor. Sure some make mistakes but thats part of professional sports. Its not just our team.

after Arnott's line, there's not much there. I guess they could make another line out of Kovy-Zajac-Zubrus, but then the bottom six is a black hole of suck with both Pelley and Mair playing C.

Im sick of this whole "pointing fingers" garbage that is going on. Constant. They are a team, they will win as a team and go down in flames as a team.

From where I sat they all were most certainly NOT working hard today. Tedenby. Hedberg. 18 Thanksgiving turkeys.

I know it's a bit of sour grapes to not give any credit to the other team but just look at this roster. This is what the Devils failed to register a single goal against. Sh!t, they couldn't even manage to connect on single passes for most of the game.
This loss really did it for me. No excuse getting beat soundly by what amounts to nothing more then an AHL roster. Couple that with all of the out of town games going the wrong way, well this was just a crippling loss on so many levels.
At this point you can only laugh at what a joke this team has become. I can't see how anyone could honestly say with a straight face that the Devils brought a good effort today. They were a step behind from the very first face off. I honestly have no issues with the losing just as long as a strong effort and work ethic is there. That was not the case today. They were outworked by a bunch of kids. Shocker.

Yeah, dude. My tongue was planted firmly in cheek when I said to give the Islanders credit. That was a sh!tshow out there by NJ.

I still have some sort of faith in the team but not that much. We'll be lucky if we break 80pts this season let alone take the cup.

For me this analyst is not saying BS...think of it.
Little money to a guy who can get your PP running every night just like he did with the Habs last year and even with his poor defense we can put him on the fourth line just like MTL did last year.
When your team is stinking like we do and surely when you are struggling to get a goal and the bounces ain't coming your way on the 5 vs 5 then you need a good PP to get things running.
Our PP is something that we miss a lot this year...we had a ton of nights where we need that goal that would get us going but we can't do it.We also had games like today where a good PP was almost key to the W.
One goal on the 5 on 3 and then another on the 4 minute PP and think of what this game would have looked like even if we play like sh!t all game long.
Watch other teams play and you will realize that many teams struggle all game long like us but can always get things going thanks to a good PP.
I see no reason at this point why we wouldn't give him a shot at it.He actually knows how to shoot a puck on the PP instead of our players who just blast it as hard as they can and they always touch the glass instead.
Watched him all year long last season and he shoots the puck down low...at least if its not in then you can always have decent chances on the rebounds.
Dump someone and sign him.

he's certainly a specialist with a rocket of a shot for his size... good skater but he's not really good in his own end but we've played with 7 Ds before... so we can run him on the PP the best thing is... he's a left handed shooter... its seriously just not working with kovie on the point and an other right shooter on the other side... with both of them on each side man that would help

He knows where to shoot the puck on the PP.yeah SS-SS, since last year i have a feeling that M-A would be a devils eventually... the thing is that montreal wouldnt sign him to a long term deal and he wants 2 years at leasthe's certainly a specialist with a rocket of a shot for his size... good skater but he's not really good in his own end but we've played with 7 Ds before... so we can run him on the PP the best thing is... he's a left handed shooter... its seriously just not working with kovie on the point and an other right shooter on the other side... with both of them on each side man that would help
He will give you a very hard low slap-shot that will get on target. This creates chances (rebounds, tip)
We got what ??? We got guys that shoot hard but never touch target...the key on PP is to send a puck that gets to the net and not a shot that is 100 mph that is going to the class.

Well Martys contract is up in in 2012 which I am sure he will retire. Who is already in the league that will be a FA and has potential to take the reigns in your opinion?
Frazee will get his shot as a back-up next year. I'd love to see the Devils sign Pekka Rinne, who is RFA in 2012.

Take the cup?
They have to make the playoffs first and with the way they are playing that's not happening.
