Marty in shutouts, that's about the only one I can think of
Heh, true. Technically there's a 7-way tie for third place in shutouts. I was thinking of something else though.

Zajac in face off %?
Yep, 57.6%. Good enough for 9th in the NHL. Too bad those faceoff wins can't help him score. Only 3 goals in 32 games.

take a look at the team, no one's scoring. cant hang zajac out to dry without throwing a noose around all of their necks.
if we had any sembelnce of an even strength offensive threat, we'd be celebrating having the 9th best face-off man in the league since his assists would be through the freaking roof at the very least.
of each of Toronto's 6 shots on goal in Game 6

Because I'm bored, I looked up Devils team faceoff numbers.
This year they are ranked 8th in the league in faceoffs (51.1%). In every other year since the lockout, the Devils' faceoff numbers averaged out to 16th in the league at 49.9%. The last time a Devils team ranked this highly in the league in faceoffs was 1997-98, when they finished 7th (51.4%).
Multiple choice quiz ... These numbers mean:
A) Adam Oates is doing a good job.
B) Faceoffs are a pretty worthless stat.
C) I like turtles.

Oh I know, I'm certainly not hanging Zajac out to dry. The entire team is terrible. Zajac has at least been not been as god awful 5-on-5 as everyone else. Obviously nobody has good goal or point totals this season. Elias has been okay, that's about it.

Oates should be our head coach...with PP, PK and faceoffs clicking, it seems he has a better grip on things than JMac does...
Agreed. Oates has done a pretty stellar job with the specials play. The PP has been pretty darn good of late and Oates has tried some creative things. I appreciate the effort.

I believe they said during last night's broadcast that Gordon was the second player to net his first career goal on Brodeur this season.

Brodeur now has the NHL record for lowest in-game save % on goals allowed/shots against.
How is that possible? You mean of goaltenders that actually played all sixty minutes of a game. ****, Valiquette gave up ten goals against the Stars a couple years back...I find it hard to believe someone doesn't have a worse in-game save percentage than .650 or whatever it was last night.
