No way to tell either. Their rulings have been so sporadic. There are times when there isn't even a hearing (see Crosby hits) and times where players get longer suspensions.
Dano's expert opinion is that the league will be looking at it, but who knows. The fact no one got injured helps Volchenkov, as they have tended to suspend to the injury lately.

Did you guys just hear Doc say someone slapped a puck 113 MPH over seas? Deff a misread by the radar gun.

Yeah, the league will look at it. And knowing how the league just loves the Devils, they will write a provision into Rule 48, called the Volchenkov Exception, whereas Volchenkov, and only Volchenkov, will incur a one (calendar) year suspension from the date the questionable hit was delivered.
