People are underestimating the west again. Did you not learn your lesson last year? Plus last I checked it's tied when people have said this series would be over in 5 or even a sweep in favor of the skirts.

Currently in Montgomery County in the burbs NW of Philly. You'd be damned lucky to find someone wearing Devils gear in this whole area, especially with the lousy seasons they've had recently. They did(do) sell some Devils stuff at Franklin Mills mall at some sports shop when I was there a couple of years ago.

Odd thing is I keep seeing this black dude in a Rangers jersey around KOP mall once in a while.

Also when it's 50/50 in the heart of Jersey far away from the Hudson River, even when the team was doing well, then sorry but something is seriously wrong and the Devils should be ashamed of themselves for not promoting themselves better especially in their own state. 50/50 in Hudson county, Bergen county and directly up to the NY state border I get, but freaking Westfield?

Exactly, 2 wins from a Cup doesn't erase 4 out of 5 years of no playoffs. If we start accepting that as the norm, we're becoming Calgary or Carolina fans: happy with singular playoff appearances and maybe a round win or two but hey, we made that final that one year. That isn't what Lou built nor demanded during the time frame DJ pointed out. Even by his own high standards, this was/has to be coming.

Not to mention that year we were thisclose to getting eliminated by the Florida Panthers. When people bring that crap up they're basically telling us nothing needs an overhaul, we're fine, etc. No we're not fine. Why accept mediocrity?

Shero's a fresh face. Think he's learned from his mistakes in PIT(hopefully). He does have success in the new NHL. He's got work to do but he has the ability to turn this thing around. The draft is probably the starting point for him unless he does something earlier.

You'll see attendance plummet once they rebrand to New Jersey Red Bulls (or anything). It will never happen. I mean, we need look no further than Prudential Center and the New Jersey Devils to see the challenges a New Jersey-branded team will face.

If the team is good and marketable they'll show up. You forget that despite branding issues our team managed to draw 15,000 despite an awful season. Also sold out nearly every game in 2012 which is something they couldn't do at the Swamp after their last Cup(regardless of the excuses). Problem was building a 25,000 soccer arena in tight Harrison with limited parking wasn't the best choice.

Agree with MD's rants. You already have 2 airports within NYC limits with access to overrated Manhattan. Use those if you love NYC so damn much. As far as "costs" lol if you can afford a flight to EWR you can afford a flight to the 2 NYC airports. You think with Christie as gov state pride would have improved.
