Larsson is a keeper. He is only 21. I wish Larry Robinson were still here to develop him more (no offense to Scotty, but Larry was just a great teacher).
I think mentally, because he seems to be always paired with older players, he is too hesitant and defers to the vets, instead of playing instinctively. When he is paired with younger players he tends to be himself. He and Gelinas were solid and had a great chemistry.
D-Men take far more time to develop. He could be a staple here for the next decade with the right coaching.
Elias is a HOF, no doubt. No one has sacrificed more individual statistics for the good of the franchise/team. To excel in a defensive first system and thrive says a lot about his HOF character. Regardless of the different cast of characters on his teams, he has been instrumental in helping to get four Devils variations to the SC Finals, winning twice. He is a strong silent leader and teacher, our greatest leader post Stevens. He is a HOF in my book.
They may not be able to sustain a high level of play over the course of a season but everyone will be damned to think a Jagr/Elias combo won't wreak havoc on some level.
I don't remember them playing very well during the world cup or the olympics in year's past. On paper it sounds good, but hockey is not played on paper. I am hoping that Patty can breath some life into him.
