I have narrowed this down to the following 4 teams...this is for real....I need a new team....needs to be a Western Conference team and these 4 are my possibilities...

Whatever you choose don't go running back to the Sabres if they win the cup someday.

I don't get that feeling even though you may be right.

I get the feeling that what happened yesterday was more about not paying 1st line pricing for 2nd line players.... long term!

I agree with you 100%. and now Lou doesn't have his hands tied up with the cap. We have room to work with which is something lou never had post lockout. I'd rather be in this situation than to have a team with cap trouble and still having a missing piece that keeps us from even reaching the conference finals.

Keeping those guys at the price they are getting with their new team would be horrible for the team!

FYI, I'm actually pretty excited about the future of the Devils. The only thing that could have been worse than yesterday would have been if we signed Gomez and Raffy to those contracts. Then we would have known that we would have been good enough to make the 2nd round of the playoffs every year and no further. There are obviously more moves to come, so you can't judge the team yet.

I'm also excited about the future of the organization. We had to make a change and how can you keep Gomez and Rafalski and not be in cap trouble again? Lou has more room to work with now and he can work with a better future UFA market while other teams are stuck with long term contracts from this one.

We can give our young players their opportunity to shine and have room to make the right adjustments.

It's better to see a change that will hurt us a little in the present than staying with the same team and cap trouble while still getting hurt in the present because we are missing a key piece to not be outplayed in the second round of the playoffs all over again.

I think Lou is being responsible and I'm exited for the future. GO DEVILS!

That place sucks. This is the place to be for serious and well-moderated discussion of the Devils. Best Devils website on the net period.

The trolls at nj.com are unbearable and they get away with stuff while the real fans get deleted. I think the Clootie guy gets more attention then he deserves. I use the same name ""thehooligan" at nj.com but I don't post much over there. With too lax moderation it becomes a name calling fest.

im new i love the devils and parise and the E-G-G line and i am sad to see Gomer go but hey help me out!!!!!!!!

Gomer is not a goner yet. If he signs with a new team I will join you. But for now he is a Devil. :-)
