Bravo sir.

#1177642 Buyers or Sellers on 4/3/2013?

Posted by aylbert on 11 March 2013 - 11:01 AM

This is the only way I see Lou as a seller this year:

I receive a report that says frozen orange juice inventories will be low.

I buy buy buy...  inflating the market greatly; but keep buying them up.

This is where Lou comes in... he starts selling the futures?  That crazy guy, he lost his mind!  FIRE LOU.

Then, the actual market report comes out...  flat!?!

BAM!  Lou then covers his position...  and once again, I'm out 394mm and my buddy is left in a gorrilla suit - again.  This happens often.

Lou has bested me.   In Lou We Trust!

Tonight... we dance.

#1176029 It's time, Who gets fired?

Posted by aylbert on 05 March 2013 - 11:57 PM

You guys are full of sh!t.

3 weeks ago we had the best goalies in the league with articles written about how great Moose is in his role;  we had a no-name defense coming together and chipping in for points, and our lines were looking good.

Now, we should fire everyone and reboot?   It's a damn slump, they happen.     The biggest slump is with Hedberg who is a great backup, but has never been labeled 'the guy' in nets...   we need to have our #1 goalie back so we don't get deflated and uninspired when we drop easy goals.  When we aren't playing scared, and get the cycle going, we get our bounces...  and we win.   Simple.

Fire no one, ride out the storm, emerge stronger.

#1169550 Kovy need to ride the bench

Posted by aylbert on 08 February 2013 - 08:52 AM

Speaking of stats, did you happen to see Kovy, with an easy chance to get an empty netter, try and dish it off to Ryan Carter?

I know players love their stats; but when your contact is guaranteed for your professional life...  you're not playing for your next contract first, you're playing for your team first.   I think it reflects Kovy's maturity that he can now dish off easy goals to players who will benefit from it; if we are in the meaningless last seconds with a 2 goal lead.

If we are up by 1 one though...  I want Kovy to bury it.   Ice the game, before trying to hand out charity goals out.

#1156485 Next Time Cory Booker Wants to Call VBK a Fraud . . .

Posted by aylbert on 14 November 2012 - 12:44 PM

This is really more of a status message no?   No article, etc

Here's an article I guess to at least prevent the need for google if you don't follow baseball...

http://msn.foxsports...ell-team-111312

I want to know how Loria can face the people of South Florida, the taxpayers who subsidized 70 percent of his $515 million ballpark in Miami.

I want to know how he will market his team to free agents after trading three that he signed for a combined $191 million only a year ago.

I want to know what he will tell star right fielder Giancarlo Stanton, who tweeted after learning of the trade, “Alright, I’m pissed off!!! Plain & Simple.”

#1153586 Do you miss hockey? Do you miss Doc? Do you miss late comebacks?

Not the best year, but a great comeback!

Let's start with the duo who picked Chicago (12% Yahoo picked)... congrats to Jimmy Leeds and Devils Dose...  you're squaring off for this years title.

We say goodbye to:

49ers: Collin226, Long Island Iced Z, Smantzas  (23% Yahoo picked)

Saints: Masked Fan: (31% Yahoo picked)
Steelers:  Above the Radar (10% Yahoo picked)
Lions: One Week at a Time (4% Yahoo picked)

#1147015 Keeper-gate.....

Posted by aylbert on 07 August 2012 - 02:45 PM

Not to defend him, but I think he is honestly waiting for dr to sign up...

That shouldn't hold up the double secret lottery...  just slap team TBD on there.
Although I know there is no rush, just summer NJDevs boredom :)

#1132192 GDT: SCF Game 7

Posted by aylbert on 13 June 2012 - 03:25 PM

I don't like this thread, and I think it should get deleted.

But in this universe, where the SCF Game 7 is being played...  you love this thread and think it should be posted.

But in all universes, does not matter how paralleling its doing... this is funny:

Colonel Sandurz: Try here. Stop.
Dark Helmet: What the hell am I looking at? When does this happen in the movie?
Colonel Sandurz: Now. You're looking at now, sir. Everything that happens now, is happening now.
Dark Helmet: What happened to then?
Colonel Sandurz: We passed then.
Dark Helmet: When?
Colonel Sandurz: Just now. We're at now now.
Dark Helmet: Go back to then.
Colonel Sandurz: When?
Dark Helmet: Now.
Colonel Sandurz: Now?
Dark Helmet: Now.
Colonel Sandurz: I can't.
Dark Helmet: Why?
Colonel Sandurz: We missed it.
Dark Helmet: When?
Colonel Sandurz: Just now.
Dark Helmet: When will then be now?
Colonel Sandurz: Soon.
Dark Helmet: How soon?

#1091026 Which ex-Devil you want to see next year?

I've got you fools beat.
Time machine, Scott Stevens.  Done.

Was that so hard?   :P

#1081026 Parise: Money matters, but Cup chances are key to new deal

Posted by aylbert on 10 January 2012 - 09:59 AM

The guy is an amazing player, no questions about it. If you cant see it, I'm sorry, but I cannot respect your ability to understand the game. His contract is a separate discussion all together...

+1

Kovy is far and away one of the best pure offense guys to play the game.   It doesn't mean he's a complete player that you can build championships around - but he has been trying since coming to NJ to be a better all around player, but it's not his 'way'.   That's why we need Parise or someone of his ilk to lead us.

But you also need that Kovy swag to put up that goal when you need one.   He's starting to get hot again in that regard.

#1081025 Parise: Money matters, but Cup chances are key to new deal

Posted by aylbert on 10 January 2012 - 09:55 AM

Thing is he wants to be on a cup contender, not just a playoff calibre team.  We are def not a cup contender this year by any means and probably wont be a the next few while we go through this minor rebuilding phase.

Any team that makes the playoffs can win the cup.    The stacked teams are stacked already and can't fit an 8mm contract on their roster and they aren't really sustainable because players want their money.   Boston is very fortunate that they were basically able to keep their team together for another go this season.

If you want to sign for big money, you need to pick a team and lead them to the cup with your supporting cost.   It's time for Parise to lead this team to victory.

#1078687 Steve Cangialosi

Posted by aylbert on 03 January 2012 - 09:20 AM

Steve is fine, and I have adjusted to the new standard of our PBP.    I still listen to the Devils feed every game, and when I do switch over to our opponents to see how they are covering a controversal call/goal...   I almost always want to swithc back immediately...

Steve is not Doc, but I can assure you, no one else is either.
I like Steve a lot more than Matt Loughlin too.

#1068389 Rumor: Ducks Shopping Bobby Ryan?

Posted by aylbert on 30 November 2011 - 03:59 PM

Jersey is a segmented state that is night and day...  which is why Jersey has difficulties creating an exclusive identity and why a 'Jersey' team is a hard sell.

North Jersey is very much NY...  you'll get plenty of people to agree to that.   Then you'll get those who argue it's not...  but to outsiders, they appears as New Yorker's.

Anywhere from Trenton to Camden, etc is very much a Philly area.   Again, you'll get those who say no...  but to outsiders, they are very much Philly.
South Jersey is very...  well...  South Jersey.   They either are seen as piney's or Philly transplants.

Central Jersey is a mix of all three... and there is always a disgareement of what exactly "Central" Jersey is...   As both my parents and myself were born/raised in Toms River I knew this well... before I moved to Philly for college and stayed.   Now I'm a weird Devils/Eagles/Mets fan.    Although those were my teams before I got here...  I blame my 3rd grade teacher's obsession with Randell Cunnigham for the birds :)
