I'm sure it's been brought up on page 57 of the 72 page UFA thread
I somewhat agree with that sentiment. I much preferred when had topics as topics, and self-policed a bit... Now, the general thought is to cram everything in one topic, and have multiple conversations going on at once.
And I get it, we don't want 50 topics of every possible player that could sign here... but at the same time, the idea for the comprehensive thread came from the trade deadline day and free agency... where there are signings/trades every 5 minutes or so... that had nothing to do with the Devils.
I'm 13 months and from just outside NE Philly. All of my friends are Flyers fans, the people from daycare host Flyers day, my neighbors have orange hockey nets and their sticks are scribbled with garbage (Flyers). When I see them playing, I like to carry a broom into the action... my way of saying the Devs are going to sweep the season series.
This was a pic on my way to my first game in January when we beat the Caps in OT... I had less hair then because I was pissed at my dad for not bringing me to Flyers game where we shut them out 3-0...
3 weeks ago we had the best goalies in the league with articles written about how great Moose is in his role; we had a no-name defense coming together and chipping in for points, and our lines were looking good.
Now, we should fire everyone and reboot? It's a damn slump, they happen. The biggest slump is with Hedberg who is a great backup, but has never been labeled 'the guy' in nets... we need to have our #1 goalie back so we don't get deflated and uninspired when we drop easy goals. When we aren't playing scared, and get the cycle going, we get our bounces... and we win. Simple.
Speaking of stats, did you happen to see Kovy, with an easy chance to get an empty netter, try and dish it off to Ryan Carter?
I know players love their stats; but when your contact is guaranteed for your professional life... you're not playing for your next contract first, you're playing for your team first. I think it reflects Kovy's maturity that he can now dish off easy goals to players who will benefit from it; if we are in the meaningless last seconds with a 2 goal lead.
If we are up by 1 one though... I want Kovy to bury it. Ice the game, before trying to hand out charity goals out.
I want to know how Loria can face the people of South Florida, the taxpayers who subsidized 70 percent of his $515 million ballpark in Miami. I want to know how he will market his team to free agents after trading three that he signed for a combined $191 million only a year ago. I want to know what he will tell star right fielder Giancarlo Stanton, who tweeted after learning of the trade, “Alright, I’m pissed off!!! Plain & Simple.”
