I am looking at one thing: Bruins have 22 players signed for next year with a cap hit of 59 million. The two key players not signed are Horton (UFA) and Rask (RFA). I expect Rask to demand upwards of a 5 million cap hit, especially after his phenomenal playoff run so far. Horton, I could see asking for the same amount, thus putting them at around 70 million. They cant buyout Marc Savard cuz he is injured, likewise, Philly is stuck with Prongers massive contract. There are other teams in this league with similar problems. I think the free Agent Market is going to be a frenzy as teams try to get under the cap this summer. Should be a fun summer.

Wild are safe in terms of salary cap, if they buy out Heatley/Pominville, that puts them at 43 million (15 players) giving them 21 million to sign 8 players. Assuming Backstrom comes back at 6 mill, they now have 15 million to sign 7 players. We should do a post of amnesty buyouts that will take place this summer resulting in many more Free Agents from top teams. Some of the team that will have to turn to amnesty buyouts look like:

Flyers, Canucks, Hawks, Canadiens, Lightning.

Some teams that may have to resort to amnesty to retain top players: Bruins, Canes, Pens, maybe Wings and Rangers.

The other teams may let go of their dead weight: Devils (Salvador and Volchenkov ... so hoping for these two to go). Time for a new crop of D that can skate fast.

From now till the end of the season, I want the two wins against Rags, hopefully, knocking them out of the playoffs and letting Jets make it. Not too much to ask.

Where do most high scoring teams score their goals? Short: Around the net. We have at most one guy around the net when our D is taking a shot from the point. Other teams, all three forwards.

We dominate for 5 mins but we are no where around the net, we are around the boards. When the shot finally comes from the outside, the goalie has an easy save, rinse repeat against a set of fresh legs.
