I think any jersey re-design should come with a very slight logo revamping. Nothing crazy at all, still keep the N and J and horns and tail, but slightly more... sleek? I dunno

Also, it might be stupid, or impossible, but maybe add the flame design from Marty's helmet at the bottom of the jersey, and on the ribs. Probably would need permission from Marty's artist though.

Uy. God no... talk about cheesy. Anything with flames and I'll be ready to puke.

#1313096 Slow News Day: Kremlin Edition- Could IK Come Back to NHL?

Posted by Martyisth3b3st on 11 April 2015 - 07:44 PM

First, the Devils no longer hold the rights to Kovalchuck. He was released free and clear when he left. Second, he must sit out a full season of ALL league hockey, whether it's NHL or KHL. Lastly, he can only reenter the NHL if the NHL gms vote their approval. It's highly unlikely we'll ever see Kovy in the NHL again.

Yeah, no, none of what you said was correct.

Get over yourself. Open your eyes the Devils Stink. You want to make chicken salad out of chicken $hit, be my guest, you eat it. Please post when you have something intelligent to say. BTW one year doesn't make 10 years of crap look good.

He's been posting here for many years with many intelligent things to say.

You remind me a lot of LucifersDog, someone who was thankfully banned a year ago.

Hmm..

Maybe Lou can roll out one of the Stanley Cup Champions again next year and we can forget about the mess on the ice, get all nostalgic, and chant "Lou, Lou Lou!" until we're all blue in the face.

You're a fvcking moron and you should stop posting.

I think Kovalchuk is like that gorgeous ex girlfriend from college. You dated her, both of you changed for the better. Everywhere you went, people stared at her in amazement. And then, a year after you proposed, she left you to go home. She left you in shambles. And you hated her, you hated her so, so much. But you saw Facebook photos of her and knew you were still in love. In the years without her, you lost your job, your apartment. Your life, for the most part, has been miserable without her. Yeah, you don't spend money on her any more which is nice, but you replace her cost with cigarette-smelling strippers named Brunner and hookers named Ryder. You had a short stint with a cute girl named Jagr, but that's done now too.

And then, a few years later, when you think you might be getting over the pain, you get a text. "Hey", she says. "I miss you. I want to come back. I still love you."

Maybe it's about the money, maybe she got bored going back home. Maybe you should be the bigger man and move on. But you haven't scored with any chicks in forever, your future looks bleak, and when you close your eyes at night you can still picture her doing that cute little dance, where she puts her knee on the ground and her hand in the air. She always used to say that 'This is Couple', and it was adorable.

So what do you text back?

He's under contract with SKA next season.  He's not sitting out.

He was also under contract in New Jersey. If he's eyeing a return, and the Ruble continues to be as bad as it is, what is the threat of breaking that contract?

Like, say he calls Lou and says "I'm coming back for 2016. Will you honor my existing contract?" And Lou says "Yes.". What stops him from 'retiring' from the KHL?

#1308673 All Aboard The Severson Train

Posted by Martyisth3b3st on 04 March 2015 - 01:35 PM

Contend? The Devils have absolutely nothing at forward. Keep winning, and they might pick 10th, and even if you draft a forward you like there, don't expect much for at least 3 years. Cammalleri is only getting older and running ridiculously hot. There is not a single UFA available that would be very helpful. Henrique is a 3rd liner. Zajac has the offensive ability of a 3rd line center. Elias will be 39 next season.

What are the Devils contending for in a year? A playoff spot is a stretch. I'm not down for a full rebuild, but I also don't think the Devils are remotely close to being an above average hockey team for a few years.

I guess I meant contend for a playoff spot. I think Henrique is having a poor year but I don't think his ceiling is a third line forward. It isn't completely out of the realm of possibilit is that the devils are one trade, one UFA and a solid draft pick away from being a playoff team.

Anyway this is about Severson, there are 10 other threads for this topic. He's still really good, is all.

Please forgive my discussion. Didn't know you wouldn't allow it, your majesty.
