#1055596 GDT: Carolina Hurricanes @ New Jersey Devils

Why do the fans chant 'Lets go Devils'? Go where? Do the fans want the Devils to stop playing and go somwehere with them?

Not sure why, but I thought of this when I read that..

#978300 DEVILS SUPPORTERS SECTION - August 16th - come name the section and p

Posted by Devil Dan 56 on 08 January 2011 - 03:48 PM

I like Parise, but I put my faith in Kovalchuk in the next decade. I would love for Parise to come for the ride, but he's done terrible in the post season and showed no signs of resigning. Until then, I can't completely jump on his wagon.

He has said repeatedly that he would be open to talk contract but that the Devils have yet to approach him.

#975462 Marty is now the "co-#1" goaltender - sharing duties

Posted by Devil Dan 56 on 03 January 2011 - 08:03 PM

So.... Marty was only good because he had an amazing defense and system.

See, he won Vezinas after all those amazing defensmen left but that's only because he played so many games. You see, he played a lot of games with a less talented team and won a Vezina... product of the system.. See??

Yep. I don't get it either.

In adding to the originality, I'm Devil Dan 34 on Xbox. And yeah, an NHL 11 league might be a fun idea when it comes out.

#784724 Official : Bruins-Flyers at Fenway

Pretty much what everyone expected.

No mention of the rumored Habs-Caps game in Montreal, though.

Flyers-Bruins at Fenway in 2010.

#784351 Brodeur also excited to see Lemaire return

Kinda feels like 1995 again because we have a lot of young new players.

Dude weren't you 2 in 95? :P Not that I'd know how 95 felt either.

Me neither :( .. I was 6

Ugh, you people.... you're making me feel so old.... I was in my early twenties.

LOL, I was a sophomore in high school in '95... I feel old too with all these young'ins. :P

I was a freshman surrounded by Ranger fans. Too bad school was out by the time the finals were over.

Unfortunatley, I was surrounded by a lot of Ranger fans at my school too. One of them, who was a good friend at the time, busted my balls mercilessly for '94. So the night we won the Cup, I called him to give it right back... he hung up on me. I immediately called back. He hung up on me again. I smiled a wide smile and proceded to party all night. Ah, the great memories of the '95 Cup. :D

Yeah, man. The taunting after 1994 was so harsh. That's why 95 will always be my favorite Cup. It was the culmination of a slow build that started with Johnny Mac in Chicago in '88 and included 2 Game 7 losses to the Rangers. Only thing sweeter would have been beating the Rangers on the way to the finals.

#784279 Gomez #91 now on Canadiens...

Posted by Devil Dan 56 on 14 July 2009 - 11:07 AM

On a side note, if Shanny signs and chooses 11, do you think Rolston goes back to #14 and Zubrus back to #16?

Plus idk if Lou would allow all that number switching but it seems likely that he will at least change Shannys, seeing as Brylin is back in some sort of manner with the organization and wants to keep it nice there keeping the #18 vacant.

My guess is Bergfors or Shanny will wear 18, Rolston sticks with 12, Zubrus sticks with 8. Rolston wore 12 his whole time in Minny, and Zubes doesn't really care about the numbers. I see Pikkarainen as 14.

#784247 Rangers make stupid trade

You did lose one of your better nicknames, though. Korpedo is top-notch stuff there.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Couldn't agree more. Now we're stuck with...

"Dubi"

...God, that's so weak.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Isn't that the nickname of the backup goalie for Islanders who jumped ship asap? Dubliewitz?

Dubielwicz, yeah. Ranger fans call Dubinsky 'Dubie' as well.

This Callahan signing leaves the Rangers with 8 million in cap space. They need to sign a few more RFA's plus a defenseman. Must be a trade coming.
