#1268115 congrats to the 2013-14 Champs, the Kings

Yeah I'm completely done referencing any sort of Kings win now or before Friday. If the Rangers could pull a win like this out of the deepest and holiest crevices of Henrik's ass, who knows what else they're capable of. They've been lucky all playoffs and tonight was just the culmination. This series ain't over and I won't be talking about the outcome until I see a Stanley Cup hoisted in the air.

fvcking sick of this Rangers team, this nightmare needs to end already.

#1266162 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs thread

Posted by DJ Eco on 30 May 2014 - 09:48 AM

My biggest gripe with the new structure is that a Bruins-Habs or Devils-Rangers or Philly-Penguins is super unlikely to happen on a big stage. You saw it play out this year just like many of us imagined it. The passionate Bruins-Habs series closes out and what follows? Rangers-Habs, with a complete lack of intensity or emotion for 85% of the series. I've never seen such a tame matchup of sissy teams. You wouldn't have known a Finals berth was on the line by looking at the Habs play, they left their heart in Boston.

#1262875 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs thread

Lol it's almost expected that these guys were wearing a freaking Oshie jersey, Nash jersey, and a freaking Giants hoodie. You know exactly how these three were acting during the game.

  :haha2:  :clap2:  :clap2:  :clap2:

Someone who gets it. As much as I hate Flyers fans, I have no sympathy for these clowns.

#1261434 Confirmed : DeBoer is back

Posted by DJ Eco on 16 April 2014 - 01:59 PM

I don't know why we're picking "Brunner or Ryder", like we have 4 stacked lines of great players throughout or something. There were a couple games we had Stephen Gionta on the 2nd line playing with Elias. Hell, who knows where Ryane Clowe stands going into next season... We were even using Gelinas a winger. This is the New Jersey Devils offensive depth chart, and it's reeeeeeally bad.

We absolutely need first line offensive talent so that the move of Ryder/Brunner to the 3rd line can be made, no-brainer. Until then, there's no use debating which one we could do without, because we need everyone we can, just to still be "not good enough" haha... I may be in the minority here but I think we still need both players going into next season.

Neither contract is really that bad; the problem is not Brunner or Ryder, it's that we needed them to be the 1st liners that they really aren't. We're not all crapping on Zubrus, are we? No. But why not? Out of the 3, he was the least value for money...

#1259935 Stupid ass conference realignment

The realignment doesn't suck. The 2013-2014 New Jersey Devils suck.

#1258345 O'Neil and Hugh Weber want to reinvent the Devils as a business

Posted by DJ Eco on 03 April 2014 - 02:35 PM

I cringe a little when I read these people saying theyre still trying to figure out who the Devils fans are. You didnt study that before spending a large amount of money? And, I worry theyre going to do their brand studies and get it all wrong....

We ourselves don't even "know who we are." Half the people in the building see us as rabid rough-and-tumble Philly-style fans. The other half loves the local homegrown family nature of being a Devils fan.

Our new owners are absolutely doing the right thing by re-evaluating "who we are" as a fanbase, from a marketing standpoint. Whatever we've been doing for 10-20 years hasn't been working.

#1249207 The Official 2014 Trade Deadline Thread

Gotta at least respect their consistency - Flyers always in a win-now mentality, trading away futures.

And pretty much never winning now.

#1246385 Next season, player actions

Posted by DJ Eco on 19 February 2014 - 10:23 AM

You can't buy a better 4th line than CBGB. The problem is when ANY of them are used in any higher capacity. But that's not a problem at all if Lou can manage to upgrade our offense this offseason, simple as that.

#1242103 My girlfriend fighting the good fight on NY1 (video)

That's her at the 1:09 mark haha... My little Q/A was featured that afternoon and hers was kept (not edited out) for the daily rotation they featured on yesterday/Sunday's NY1 haha..

The guys filming us loved her response and you could tell they squeezed her bit right between two idiotic Rangers fans.

#1242030 2013-2014 Attendance

Posted by DJ Eco on 27 January 2014 - 04:25 PM

The Devils fanbase made me so proud yesterday. I couldn't believe while I was taking a subway from midtown a few hours before the game that I would see about 75% Devils fans (25% Rangers fans) taking over a New York City subway station.

And then when we got to the stadium, I still saw more Devils fans than Rangers just about everywhere I went. It's possible that there was about a 55/45 split in favor of Devils fans. Devils fans made it so hostile for Rangers fans during the opening introductions and throughout the first period, it was amazing.

And then our team decided they'd given us enough to cheer about and took their pedal off the gas. What a humiliating loss, I know it's just one two-point game, but this could've really been the nail in the coffin of the Devils-Rangers rivalry. A 4-0 record on the year and beating them in Yankee Stadium in front of a hostile Devils crowd could've been up there with the experience of Game 6.

The bleachers section where I was sitting was probably 80/20 Devils fans, I could not believe my eyes. It was a great awesome event, but it really could've been a legendary one if our team didn't sh!t the bed.

As far as the crowd goes, I don't think the Rangers fans got one chant going. The Rag fans behind me were kinda blind-sided by how many chants the Devils had. Our section was pulling out all the stops as far as chants go and the Blueshirts had no voice whatsoever.

#1240542 GDT: 1/21/14 Blues @ Devils

Posted by DJ Eco on 22 January 2014 - 01:48 PM

I believe they did not allow him to blow it on the lower level. I did hear him while going down the escalator towards the box office after the game.

I really dislike the vuvuzela as an instrument, completely. Keep it in soccer damnit!

No, don't even keep it in soccer!

I'm a soccer nut, and couldn't stand watching the South Africa World Cup.
