i don't want anything i say to be taken as a misconception, but like many other posters i like elias, gionta, and zajac. i think they are players that fit the team well and they all want to be here. with that being said, we don't have the level of defensemen to put this team into serious contention with the western powers that are only getting better. so, since we have more room on offense and there are teams willing to move their top defensmen, why not send our expendable O-men for something we need the most?

i think gio has to be the one to go. Zajac needs more time and everyone talks of the sophomore slump but still wants him gone. bergfors should be on the team unless he does nothing at all in camp.

but i think some good experienced creative players in elias and rolson around bergfors should give him room to score some goals and get into the swing of things quickly.
and i believe this second line has shown chemistry before

Those lines won't work, Bergfors isn't NHL ready, isn't a left wing and shouldn't be on the top line. Also Vrana on 4th line is stupid. Put Vrana up in Elias' spot and then move Elias to the left wing.

alot of people are saying that if bergfors and vrana dont make the team that they will be bust.
id rather give guys in the system a shot. Rather than fill gaps will 3,4,5 expensive free agents and leave guys in the minors rotting or having another team pick them up and giving them a proper look.

theres also talk that lou wants bergfors on the first or second line or not at all. so the more skill around him the better.
