These teams hate each other, the coaches hate each other and the players want to beat the sh!t out of each other. That's not staged, that's the passion that hockey and this rivalry brings out in players, coaches and fans. Don't like it? Turn it off!

How many individual players are a draw by themselves though? Other then Crosby there isn't a single one. And no Ovie doesn't count because that arena down in DC was so empty you could hear a pin drop in it before the team actually started winning. Those fans didn't hop onto the Ovie bandwagon until the team started playing well.

Caps attendance starting the first year Ovie was with them...

I was part of it last year, and I don't remember any begging of the front office for official recognition. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it was the Devils that came to us and offered the official recognition and unexpectedly gave us free tickets for one or two games. No offense, but from a reader's perspective that post just reeks of bitterness.

And I agree with you 100% that everyone there needs to make themselves a part of the atmosphere, not just one official loud section, not two unofficial loud sections, every section. It is disheartening to see so many people just sitting there with their hands on their lap all game long. Why even bother going to the game then? How could it be worth your money to just sit there like that? I don't get it, maybe someday we will have a nice home rink atmosphere.

Cause you are right, we never begged for anything. I sent them an email asking them to give us the back of a section to let us stand/chant. They said yes and that was that. All the stuff the front office did was because they wanted to do it.

The bottom line is that whoever is in the section now has to pick up the ball and run with it to make it work. Being quiet no matter how many goals we are down doesn't accomplish that. It's only game 1 but I'm hoping to see it get better.

We're all fans of the same team and there to support them. I don't care if a chant starts in our section, 208, 233, etc. If someone anywhere starts a chant I'm going to join in. Who really cares about what section you're in as long as you're supporting the team. I think what most of us want in the end is the whole arena to be a united front, not just sections fighting.

Bingo, that's why we try to join in when other people in various other sections start chants. This has always been about making the entire arena louder. That's why I started this thing in the first place, to bring fans who wanted to be even louder then normal together. I don't care what section starts chants or which is the loudest, the more people who are chanting and being loud the better.

and in reference to the 3 stars things, it did look like he looked right up at us and pointed so you can't blame people for thinking he was pointing up there. I'm a full season ticket holder and I never noticed what he did during the 3 stars, never thought much of it and had no idea he was pointing at his family so it's hard to blame people for thinking that.

I've met a lot of people during these 4 supporters games and I can't say I've run into anyone with an ego. Everyone has been just happy to have some fun and be loud while rooting the team on around fellow Devils fans.

Scott gave us 3 cups and some great moments when he wore a Devils jersey. I didn't like how he left here either but I'm over it.
