#1137061 ‏Zach Parise has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Wild

I enjoyed free agency a lot more before every idiot with an internet connection posted "insider info" on their twitter.

@PrudentialCenterSecurityGuard: At Panera right now...

#1136008 Half Devils/Half Politics Poll

Posted by Daniel on 28 June 2012 - 02:52 PM

Chuck, your idea of the government eventually saying what car you can but is ludicrous and totally knee-jerk reactionary! The idea that the government would make you buy a certain car is much more in favor of right wing ideals than left wing. As a matter of fact it's exactly the idea that right wingers like, letting private interests influence public policy. It's pretty much the standard definition of the dreaded "F" word that the right wing is often associated with.

Actually, the federal government already tells you what kind of car you can buy. Sure, they don't say, you must buy GM (although the bail out of the UAW -- ahem, I mean GM -- was a roundabout way of taking my money to allow other people to buy cars from people who happen to be favored by the party that controlled the government at the time), but they say, all new cars must have a rear view camera (at an extra cost of a few hundred dollars to the purchaser), that they must meet certain fuel efficiency requirements, etc.

I also have no idea what you're talking about "private interests influencing public policy". That's what voting is. For example, public employee union members don't seem to get it, but it's the private sector taxpayers that pay the salaries of public employees, not just the Koch brothers or the monopoly man. I have decided that I want to get the best price possible for their services and not pay for superfluous positions like guidance counselors for elementary school students. Should I find that education is worse off for it, then maybe I'll change my mind later. Either way, I'm voting in accordance with my own private interests. But I don't know, maybe you've found group of all wise, all knowing central planners that have the answer to all those questions.

Where's the option to click care about both equally?

Sorry, there's no middle ground here. You either care about the Devils over everything or you're some pinko-commie Ranger fan.

True, but at least PDB can pick up the phone and dial Lou to ask how things are going at the negotiating table. None of us can do that. We have to rely on the CAA security guard for all of our inside info.

You obviously know nothing. You don't talk to Lou on the phone. You get permission from the heads of the five families and maybe you get a sit-down at Panera.

If any more evidence that Єklund (2.3% accurate) is a fraud is needed:

*Flyers and Leafs are reportedly in discussions.. I am told it is NOT JvR for Schenn.

Daniel: I don't think that Zach Parise and Noah Cross are quite analogues, but I don't want to explain why without ruining Chinatown for people who haven't seen it.

Spoiler: The chick in the Crying Game is actually a man.

#1131111 Get rid of on-ice officials

Posted by Daniel on 11 June 2012 - 10:22 PM

Seriously this is garbage.

We lost 6-1. Got a bad call or non call, don't give up three goals on one powerplay. The Kings didn't cry and moan when they had to kill a 5 on 3 pp in game 3. They went ahead and killed the thing and made it look easy at that.

Leave the whining and conspiracy theories to Ranger fans.

#1129786 Devils Financial Woes on Verge of Being Solved?

His Apprentice show also makes more money from sponsors than even American Idol from what I hear. This mostly due to the sh!tload of product placements in each episode.

Also IDK but when I see any building with the name TRUMP on it I immediately think about how that is very 80's.

"Look at that fvcking phony, Dude. Pretending to be a fvcking millionaire. . . . And this guy's a fake. A fvcking goldbricker."

#1128527 Does the league owe the Devils an apology?

Posted by Daniel on 05 June 2012 - 08:48 AM

Seriously, give this sh*t a rest. Devils lost the game 4-0. Couldn't score on a one minute 5 on 3. Put very few quality shots on Quick. In short, Devils were absolutely dominated and deserved to lose the game. No apology needed for the same reason that you won't get an apology for a bad call in a 10-0 game.

People are starting to sound like whiny Ranger fans who think the world owes them something.

#1118366 Parise

Posted by Daniel on 09 May 2012 - 03:51 PM

Choosing based on a coach is kind of short sighted. Parise will almost certainly get a long term deal and Pete DeBoer will probably no longer be coaching the Devils within 2-3 years.

Will take a meltdown of epic proportions or DeBoer pulling a Sutter for that to happen.

Burns would have been around a long time had he not gotten sick. Sutter might still be the coach had he not quit on us.

Despite Lou's reputation, the goal recently has been to find a young coach to be here long-term. That was the idea with Sutter (who quit) and Johnny Mac (who was a disaster).

#1106839 Mayor Cory Booker: Devils owner let Newark down

Posted by Daniel on 13 April 2012 - 08:38 AM

Good for him, its refreshing to hear these type of stories in the news.

Edit: Imagine it was fake and just a ploy for him to win the peoples vote :o Lol

Apparently JVB was at the scene too, but was busy twirling his mustache, adjusting his monocle and stealing money from orphans when the building was burning.
