What is the point of this thread? I'll take a stitched sweatshop jersey over a more expensive replica that will fall apart and look like crap. Even cheaper is to get a player shirt and get it on sale.

The point is to be ethical.  If you would like to support, organized crime (or crime in general), and/or child labor, then just say so.  Are you a thief?  I guess so with your comment.

Saw this on another site and I hope that sooner than later the Devils decide to do this.

I don't understand the Devils organization of late. They just continue to drop the ball for the people who support them.  Very disappointing.

The retro gamers continue to be another source of speculation and questions...  Lou told some Devils collectors that they were given to the players, but when signing autographs the player said they didn't have them.  So where are they?

TG mentioned it on his blog and he re-iterated to me in an Twitter DM that the Devils would put info on their website.

The Devils put MeiGray in a tough spot and MeiGray handled it quite well.  The thread is a good read.

According to MeiGray, the Pat Burns patched red jerseys are to be auctioned off with all the money going to charity.   The Devils jerseys were worn all season and then the patch was added for four games with the last one being December 2nd.  

"After the jerseys have been worn in the four designated home games, each of the jerseys worn during this period will then be autographed by the entire team and auctioned off. Further information on the auction is still to come.

Proceeds from the sale of the jerseys will be donated in Pat Burns’ memory to La Maison Aube-Lumiere, a cancer hospice in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada."

The Devils aren't always the quickest contact all parties involved and I just wanted to find out if anything has been heard concerning these jerseys?  If the Devils wanted to auction them off and get the most bang for their buck, I'm really suprised they didn't mention them at games (to bid on or inform those watching that they can own a game worn jersey with a patch to remember a fallen hero).   The Devils were 3 and 1 in those jerseys and each day I feel they are going to command less and less since the Devils aren't doing as well as projected.  It is a real shame that Pat Burns was only good enough to be remembered on home jerseys for FOUR games.

Has anyone heard anything period?

I've heard it before, but I never understood it.  If you think it is unscrupulous say so, if you think it is unethical say so, if you think it was overpriced SAY SO.  I don't understand the "douche" comment and doesn't let me understand why you think it is wrong.

I'm not angry with you or LD.  I'm disappointed in the US team.  Landon Donovan is very inconcistent.   I can think of 3 or 4 active players who derserve to play more than him.

This country was created with freedom in mind, freedom to do what you want in terms of a job, religion, business and many other choices. If you don't like those choices then either except it or move somewhere else. Maybe you can take Landon Donovan with you.   What a waste of talent. The Algeria goal was more luck and being in the right place at the right time since Dempsey did all work and technically was offsides even though he was in the goal (but with the officiating who knows anymore).

Not to go in the negative direction but I've always heard Elias isn't too great with fans.. Which is sad because he's my favorite player.. I've kind of avoided meeting him because I'm afraid the rumors will be true and it will end up crushing my view of him

Elias has never disappointed me.  My two favourites that I've met are Grant Marshall and Brian Rolston.   Both took time to chat with me and thanked me for being a fan (Marshall thanked me for making his day actually and others were there for proof).  Langenbrunner, Zajac, Janssen, Brylin, Shanahan, White and Clarkson were some of my other favorites.

WORST, HANDS DOWN:  John Madden.  Wish him the worst wherever he goes.  Just a jerk.  I've never met Jason Arnott, but heard the same about him during his time in NJ.  I've also heard that he was great in Edmonton.
