#1143482 NSFW: Cam Janssen interview

Posted by Legion15 on 13 July 2012 - 07:33 PM

my biggest gripe on the whole "gay" thing is when people use the term "homophobe" for someone who speaks out against gays or says something defamatory toward them. Unless you're saying "gays frighten me" you're using an incorrect term. Phobia = fear, not hatred, disapproval, bashing.

honestly I couldn't care less about the whole gay community or what they do in their own lives. Just don't go forcing everyone to not only accept it, but celebrate it. Stop with the "gay days" festival at DisneyLand, and making everyone have gay-friendly events to show acceptance. If you're gay, fine, more power to you, just keep it to yourself and don't hit on me. I like boobies. I just don't like the tone of pro sports thinking they "own" this player until retirement just because he has an employment contract with them. this is the offseason, which means he goes back to being a normal guy and can do whatever he wants. he doesn't "represent the team" until camp starts, and shouldn't be subject to uncle Lou's crackdown, or action from the league. He didn't go on the show as Cam Janssen, New Jersey Devils player, he went on as Cam Janssen, regular guy who just happens to be that other guy from October to June. this was an interview on an off-color howard stern like interview show where he was expected to be vulgar, the hosts are. I've seen their other "the best we're allowed to show you on YouTube" highlights. It's all women stripping and jilling off in the studio. He just happened to be the hometown boy they got on who just happens to be a hockey player on a big name team. Honestly, to this whole thing I say Big Fvckin Deal. If the gays are upset, let them be upset.

good for Cam being a man, and speaking his mind instead of worrying about offending people. I'm sure there are many others in the league who have the same mindset, whether they'd admit it or not.

#1130921 Bernier

Posted by Legion15 on 11 June 2012 - 09:02 PM

wow love how everyone dumps on BERNIER for a ridiculous inexcusable call by the stripes. If anything I'd accept 2 mins and that's it. It was not Steve's fault the king turned around half a second before the hit. Sorry the ref blew it, gift wrapped it for the Kings and the league should be embarrassed they pandered to LA all series. The whole situation sucks but dumping on Bernier is not where the hate should go. He didn't cost us the game, the men in stripes did. Hope the Kings enjoy their tainted cup. Maybe next year they'll actually be unbiased...

#1125996 Party With the New York Rangers!

Posted by Legion15 on 30 May 2012 - 12:59 PM

wow, if that's actually the way it went down, they are either not the sore losers I take them to be or they were just drunk off their asses. Their fans could learn a lot from their team off the ice, like not acting so butthurt we beat them in a high profile matchup!

#1120352 GDT: ECF Game 2 - NJ Devils @ NY Rangers

Posted by Legion15 on 16 May 2012 - 09:08 AM

cautiously optimistic. No repeats of the highly questionable officiating from the other night! Another incident like Del Zotto's closing the hand on the puck CANNOT be missed by 2 refs or it will keep happening. So sick of that goal song of theirs, the condescending attitude of their fans. The thing that doe make me laugh is their obsession with taunting Marty all game, I mean he "hears" it, but tunes it out. He actually feeds on it sometimes. Anyway, let's just go out there and play hard. If they want to play this diving and shot blocking game, shoot it harder at them. You crack a rib or break a nose, they'll think twice about sacrificing themselves. Let Henrietta take the shots on - GET THEM THROUGH!

#1072037 Just STOP

Posted by Legion15 on 12 December 2011 - 10:32 AM

Seriously, I can't believe you point to "Rangers (or 'you') suck" as a classless example. the rangers/flyers fans go out of their way to do much worse and the big problem is our fans tend to get sucked in and stoop to their level. If you want to chant something after a goal who cares? If you don't believe in doing it, it's your choice, nobody asked you. Yes, some people should cut it out with all the whining and bitching. There are a few (honestly I don't pay attention to names so I won't provide examples, and frankly don't feel like getting into internet battles of intelligence insulting) who act like they have inside knowledge on here all the time and won't listen to other sides of a story. Do you work for NHL Network? MSG, (god help me here) ESPN, etc? no? Then your info weighs as much as anyone else on here! I personally don't ever remember being flamed on here but I do notice it a lot and stop reading the thread before I get pissed enough to call someone out for what they wrote and start a whole thing...

The classless part is not what a few people do to jab at the other team/team's fans at the arena, its what people do online, personally attacking someone just because you don't agree with something they wrote. If you don't agree, just say so and provide reasoning, don't go insulting someone's intelligence or hockey knowledge. Not everyone watched every game from opening night in '82 and knows all the players and stats from the Devils in the past 30 years. Some are just casual fans, some are hardcore. Everyone should be able to post their opinions, content and info on here without fear of being called some name because of ignorance or whatever, if you post something, and someone provides credible evidence to the contrary, just let it go, it's just hockey and it's just an online forum, it's not life, and if it is life for you, you really need to get out and get a better one...

#1070167 MSG in South Jersey

Posted by Legion15 on 06 December 2011 - 10:06 AM

Let's see if the Generals have any sort of say or care.

It's official. There's no way to get these stations down here. I tried for hours on all cable providers in the area. Not even possible to pay for an extra sports package unless you want Center Ice. I've known this forever but I decided to make it 100% and waste my entire day.

How can you market the team as "Jersey's Team" when over half the state cannot watch the games? I'm fed up with this bullsh!t. I'm not paying 200 bucks for standard definition Center Ice when they are the only hockey team that plays in this state.

You saw the outcome of the viewing party. Over 50 fans were there to see the Devils win. I know tons of fans. Even more so, there's a lot of young fans that end up liking the flyers since they are the only team on TV.

Do something about it. The team would gain mass exposure and fans if only they were accessible to the rest of the state.

It needs to happen.

Yeah, in the few times I've had the actual desire to venture into the 609 area code, especially near Atlantic City, there are way too many orange and white wearing cheesesteaks walking around. Makes you forget you're actually still in Jersey. I know the team plays in Newark, over an hour and a half drive north for most people down there, but it's hard to call it Jersey's Team when half the state is even excluded from watching on TV!

#1070163 Latest on realignment

Posted by Legion15 on 06 December 2011 - 09:56 AM

Yeah, this is going to take a lot of getting used to. Just hopefully no more obscure names for the conferences... no more Prince of Wales conference or something like that... I could deal with something like the Atlantic Conference or something that makes sense geographically...but don't name them after people

here's the write-up on nj.com:

nj.com link

The new look has two conferences with seven teams all based in the Eastern time zone: the Devils, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, the Rangers, the Islanders, Washington and Carolina in one and Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Buffalo, Florida and Tampa Bay in the other.

The third conference consists of eight teams in the Eastern and Central time zones: Detroit, Columbus, Nashville, St. Louis, Chicago, Minnesota, Dallas and Winnipeg. The fourth conference has eight teams in the Mountain and Pacific time zones: Los Angeles, Anaheim, Phoenix, San Jose, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Colorado.

The conferences have not been named.

#1066312 Wendy's Owner

Posted by Legion15 on 22 November 2011 - 09:27 AM

has anyone seen "the real" Wendy in the commercials? She looks like she had a steady diet of those burgers growing up. Not at all what I expected she looked like.

...and now, just to make them more unhealthy....they butter toast the bun!

anyway, a Where's the Beef chant would be hilarious, but most people wouldn't know what the hell the chant is for

The coach can't be your buddy, if he is, there's a wide open door toa take too many liberties and be able to walk all over him. The coach has to be tough to get results

#1065891 Panthers player whine about DeBoer as a coach

Posted by Legion15 on 21 November 2011 - 09:31 AM

"You've got more freedom to do wjhat you want on the ice (under new coach Kevin Dineen)," defenseman Dmitry Kulikov told the SunSentinel. "You feel if you make a mistake you can make up for it on the next shift.

"With Pete, it's one mistake and you're like shaking for the rest of the game."

:cryriver: :cryriver: :cryriver:

umm...maybe because you weren't disciplined enough? That's his JOB. The coaches beat you down for your mistakes (so you learn and don't do it again), your team builds you back up.

Get a thicker skin Panthers!

#1065168 KINGS, DEVILS TALKING TRADE?

Posted by Legion15 on 17 November 2011 - 02:34 PM

it would make no sense to name parise captain and then trade him. right now it looks like the devils will be within striking distance of the playoffs, so i think a parise trade is very unlikely.

yeah, but he's UFA at the end of the season, we have to keep him from going somewhere else. Plenty of teams will be throwing money at him, Lou has to make him a Godfather-style deal to keep his thoughts here

#1065159 KINGS, DEVILS TALKING TRADE?

Posted by Legion15 on 17 November 2011 - 02:13 PM

Last night in the pregame one idiot said that he sees Zach going to Pittsburgh....could you imagine? I would just stop watching the NHL all together at that point. Parise, Crosby and Malkin. fvck that noise.

Yeah the talking heads on VS during the pregame almost unanimously proclaimed Parise was gone at the end of the season. It's like they love taunting Devils fans.
