#1171809 How success kills good teams (and why S. Gionta needs benching)

Posted by Vic Rattlehead18 on 17 February 2013 - 06:21 PM

Threads like this make me frequent this board less and less. I only read the first page and a half because my head hurt from scratching it so much. Some times I think Triumph doesn't even watch the games but merely goes to the stat sheets afterwards for his tell-all fenwick and other bs stats to make his decisions.

CBGB is a 4th line. And Zubrus coming back will finally fill up a third line that will allow CBGB to be bumped back down. But to say they're not even a good line? We would not have gone as far in the playoffs if they were not a line. They are our best 4th line in YEARS. Right now it's just a matter of not having more talented bodies to fill up the third line, mostly because of barch

It would be funny if he goes to the panthers. Clemmenson goes there to play and get away from martys shadow. Marty follows him. Troll

I can guarentte that you'd never say anything like that to my face.

I think this warrants a suspension

#1072055 Just STOP

Posted by Vic Rattlehead18 on 12 December 2011 - 11:00 AM

The amount of bitching, complaining, and fighting on this message board is unbelievable.

Why don't you all carve out a time and place to meet and settle your differences in person? Half of you wouldn't show up and the other half would be trembling at the thought of a real life confrontation. I have been here for at least six years now... and I've gotten in a few arguments with some of you and it sure doesn't make me feel awesome for the rest of the day that I told off someone on the internet.

I'm not one-upping the mods here. God knows they all have real jobs and are too busy to police this place 24/7... but for the last few days, I've logged on here looking for some hockey discussion to get involved in. Instead, I find the same people fighting in almost every thread. People that think they have the right to judge other people's comments and opinions, people that are ALWAYS right, and other people who can't hold a conversation like a normal human being without flexing their internet muscles.

Either this is going to stop or I'm leaving. Not that I expect anyone to give a crap, but this place has turned into a garbage dump of jerk-offs. I've met some real nice people here (sadly, they don't come here any more for this very reason). Hell, I even met my girlfriend on here and we've been together for almost three years. This place USED to be a great place to visit up until lately.

I'm not mentioning any names or user names but you should know who you are. Stop ruining this community.

Thanks.

(Waits for the ensuing argument)

HOW ABOUT YOU SHUT THE DUCK UP!

Oh sure! Now the Taormina fans come out of the wood work! I kid, I kid.   :giggle:

I would have wanted Taormina on this team all year but Fayne is just better than him.  I do not like Larsson and would rather Taormina be up in his place.  Plus, Tao was an awesome character in Shining Force for sega.

He doesn't pull an Ovy and try the 1-v-1 move for the sexy highlight goal.

You're right. He does the 1-v-3 move for the sexy giveaway.

#1055755 Opening Night White

My 50 year old mother almost never goes to games. She went to the home opener and specifically bought a new shirt for that game, which happened to be black. And she still put the white shirt on over it. My mother is a more dedicated devils fan than most here and she's been to about 10 games her whole life

#783961 Rangers vs Devils GF & GA

Posted by Vic Rattlehead18 on 13 July 2009 - 08:11 PM

My Rangers friend decided to declare a 16 goal campaign for Parise under Lemaire (sarcastic obviously but the point is there).  So I compared Rangers GFs with Wild and Devils.  Then I decided to look at the comparison of GF's and GA's since the Devils first season.

Devils grand totals are:
6507 / 6345

And Rangers totals are:
6728 / 6625

Rangers obviously did better than us scoring 221 more goals.  But also let up 280 more goals.
Devils scored 162 more goals than they gave up.  Rangers scored only 103 more goals than they gave up.
That's a difference of 59 between the two.  It is a small difference, but given the Ranger fans' long history of excuses of minuscule statistics.  I think this stacks up pretty good.  Not to mention only being away by 221 goals isn't all that much either.

Keep in mind, Devils won 3 cups and missed the playoffs 7 times in their history.
Rangers won the cup once and missed the playoffs 9 times in this time period.
