This gives us a chance to possibly score 2 goals against NYR

#1085384 Bruins White House Visit

Posted by Colin226 on 24 January 2012 - 12:31 PM

Going to see the President after winning a championship has nothing to do with politics.. It's about being invited to the White House and having your day to be recognized by an important figure for a great achievement.. He made it a political issue and just looks like a real goober now.. Congrats Timmy, you made a stand about nothing and felt important

I just think its funny how my Republican Facebook friends are applauding him, when I know they'd be yelling about how "unpatriotic" this would be if their guy was in power

#1083583 Wow.. LeBrun says we're exciting!

What hurts the Isles; they have been a sh!t team forever now (with a spot playoff appearance here and there). I know a lot more Islander fans in the NY area, than I do Devs fans... but you don't show up to watch a sh!tty team, and you don't watch them on tv... Try years of November 2010 Devils hockey... it's going to hurt.

I think we're fine... the new arena is much easier to get to for me, although I still don't want to hang out in Newark which is disappointing. I'm very much get to the parking garage, walk to the stadium, get back to the car... or train... but I tend to drive in. I don't think we'd sell out every night though - even with a 00-01 squad on the ice. But the playoff revenue would definitely help :)

We really need to keep Zach - or somehow replace him; which won't happen. Kovy is doing great now, but snipers are streaky. But its fun watching the Devils play, no doubt.

In all honesty dude this is your own fault.. With Uber Burger, BCBnG, Loft 47, and Edison Ale House all within 10 yards of the building there is literally no excuse to go straight from your car into the arena.. I understand the crime statistics in Newark but they rarely happen in that area of the city, and can you name me one time someone was robbed or assaulted before/after attending a game?

#1072839 Pronger out with PCS

Posted by Colin226 on 13 December 2011 - 07:23 PM

Pronger is a POS no doubt.. Is it wrong to celebrate inside when he gets hurt? I fully admit that it probably is, but I don't care.. He has no problem being a douche and making dangerous plays

#1071977 GDT: 12/10/11 Canadiens vs Devils

Posted by Colin226 on 12 December 2011 - 12:39 AM

I love all this cheap talk. If I lived in New Jersey I would still get center ice unless I had media credentials. Fans piss me off with their ridiculously incorrect rants. Why should I dish out 3000+ for games when it is an investment I make nothing off of. The entertainment value is not that high.

No you wouldn't.. Center Ice is blacked out in North/Central Jersey :giggle: You'd have to watch on MSG and VS

He finally opened the ketchup jar.

When they were reviewing it, the replay clearly made it seem like a good goal.. But the way this season has been going with reviews you kinda started to guess what the new made-up explanation for a no goal would be :giggle:

#1069967 Gotta love Sherri Ross' honesty

Posted by Colin226 on 05 December 2011 - 05:35 PM

Well you pick a funny time to bring this up since they've had some of their best periods together since then, at least offensively.

But yeah, that experiment needs to end, because Kovy's proven that he's a mental midget that needs everything to be just right for him to succeed.

Yup, if there's one true thing ever said about the Atlanta Thrashers during his time there it's that everything was just right :doh1:

Over the last 4 games that line has 5 goals and 15 points.. By far our most productive line, yeah blow it up

#1069625 The Kovy Conundrum

Posted by Colin226 on 03 December 2011 - 10:32 PM

If he plays like this every night, you'll see 2 and 3 point games on the regular. The idea that this 'isn't enough' is ridiculous - he set up a ton of scoring chances tonight.

Yeah how many points does his line have in the last 4 or so games? They showed a graphic on it during the game.. To say he isn't doing enough is only because your expectations for him are unreasonable

#1069615 The Kovy Conundrum

Posted by Colin226 on 03 December 2011 - 10:16 PM

Kovalchuk may be piling up the minuses, but I think he's playing some of his best hockey as a Devil right now. The guy I saw tonight is the guy that the Devils paid all that money for.

Totally agree Tri.. It's too bad some people can't see it

#1069607 GDT: Devils @ Winnipeg Jets

Posted by Colin226 on 03 December 2011 - 10:00 PM

My thoughts:

1. Any review involving us that goes to Toronto should automatically just be deemed anti-nj on the ice right away to just save everyone's time. Don't pretend you're objectively reviewing tape in toronto, NHL.

2. We lost this game because Kovalchuk couldn't handle a pass hedberg.

3. We didn't deserve to lose. Every one of winnipegs goals was bullsh!t. We keep losing from mistakes and bullsh!t. Frustrating.

1. Totally agree and I've always been against conspiracy crap (still am) but DAMN.. I mean they've even reinvented their own rules this season to fvck us on reviews.. It's becoming a sick joke

2. Totally wrong.. You can give up goals because of 1 player but you never lose a game because of 1 player.. Moose cannot handle the puck like Marty and needs to stop trying

3. Agreed.. We weren't pretty but the effort and chances were there

It's a rut.. You can't jump ship when this happens to every team every season.. Things always balance out and we will string a bunch together at some point

#1069308 GDT: Devils @ Wild. 8:00 pm EST

Posted by Colin226 on 03 December 2011 - 12:47 AM

Yeah I understand being frustrated over Kovy but the scapegoating for the real issues by some is ridiculous and shows you either don't watch games or you don't know much about what you're seeing.. Our D is a major issue as well as 2 top centers being out and some bad breaks..

Learn from last season and don't overreact.. This team is underperforming now but things always even out in hockey during an 82 game season.. You have to look at the big picture and realize that cold streaks happen to every team every season

#1066545 GDT Devils at Panthers

Posted by Colin226 on 23 November 2011 - 12:46 AM

Kovy was horrible tonight outside of the first period. The guy just stands in one spot and watches Parise/Henrique hustle their asses off. Everyone in the building knows hes just waiting to get off a one timer from the top of the circle so why doesnt he just move around, get in on the forecheck, use his backhand, drive the net, etc...

Duhhh.. Kovy, if you really haven't noticed, is a slap shot scorer.. He can dangle extremely well too, but his slapper is elite.. That's why I think he and Zach shouldn't be on the same line - Kovy needs guys who can feed his shot consistently, and Zach needs guys to get pucks either on net so he can bang one home or get him a a breakaway pass

Both superstars with different ways of scoring, so don't get on him for that
