#1296648 I really am beginning to hate our fans.

Posted by HellOnICE on 21 December 2014 - 06:08 AM

This season has confirmed it for me: The majority of our fans, and it is the majority, are fvcking morons.

I'm so sick of the idiots who claim to support this team and bitch about every fvcking thing about the team, the players, the arena, the owners, the food in the building, the goal song, the announcements, the booing, everything sucks mentality...it just fvcking disgusts me.

Just from the start of last night at the rink - the people booing DeBoer in the pregame announcements. Like get a fvcking life already. They have no ability to look at the roster and see that TIM SESTITO, JORDIN TOOTOO, STEPHEN GIONTA, MARTIN HAVLAT, MIKE SISLO are all in the same line up - and they are ranting and raving about ITS THE SYSTEM man! It's the system. Pete doesn't care. Doesn't change anything. He's not throwing benches on the ice like Ftorek - he shows no PASSION man. EVERY game for Pete, is arranging deck chairs. He's got no guns. You want to know why a team like Washington can manhandle us? They have first line players. We don't. It's that simple. Pete said it last night and he's right - "We needed someone to be our first star last night." They don't have one. In 82 games, you need stars to carry you. It's that simple, but no - the coach is the problem. The guy who's at least keeping this team somewhat competitive.

One goal against last night and MORONS are chanting "We want Kinkaid" Go fvck yourselves. Idiots. "This team just plays better in front of Keith" they are saying...are you out of your minds?

It's the same a$$holes who if the Devils scored last night to make it 3-1 - they'd be chanting YOU SUCK! A bunch of idiots.

The bottom line is these idiots have no sense of context and they can't look up in the rafters and see an ARENA'S WIDTH of success hanging down with the majority of this greatness taking place in the 2000s. Aside from the Detroits - who's had it better for longer? I mean, the way people are acting - it's like we're the Oilers and Mets combined. Appreciate what you have here - a team that's struggling but has a great young goalie (and a capable backup) and a great young defense. Realize it's a work in progress and you can't just replace two mega stars like PArise and Kovalchuk with the snap of the finger.

Oh it's Lou's fault. The guy lost it. He just built a Cup contender 3 years ago and the only reason we haven't won one since then, is because our dumb ass huckster owner at the time loved the team so much, he ran into the ground financially because he couldn't bear sell his baby until Bettman had to wrestle the team away from him. First he didn't want to give up any ownership, then he wanted to sell a minority stake (like potential investors were running at that fvcking idea) all while getting loans from the fvcking league - leaving our hall of fame general manager to sit there having no flexibility or ability to keep the Captain he traded up to get and build the team around. Lou had his team of the decade and it was ripped from him over sh!tty circumstance. Now what? He needs time to rebuild and retool.

Have some patience.

People at the game, people on Facebook, people on HF talking about putting bags over their heads...saying how this team is like the Jets or the Mets? Go fvck yourselves. Put a bag over your heads. A plastic one.

I'm sorry to take up a thread like this - but christ it's frustrating to be a fan of this team and not because of the team - it's because of the fans. I can see the bigger picture of the team on the ice and I'm fine with that. it stinks to go to games and they lose every one I've been to this season. But look at the bigger picture.

These guys work as hard as a team can do playing as many games in as many nights as they are. It's not an easy game and not an easy league. Understand how difficult it is and realize we have three Stanley Cups in my life time. The Rangers have won ONE in 74 YEARS. The Flyers haven't won since GERALD FORD was the President. The Blues, Sabres, CANUCKS have NEVER won anything at all. The Islanders have SUCKED for every year in my lifetime pretty much except for this one. Imagine being one of those fans and get off your goddamn high horse, sit in your fvcking seat with your jersey on, clap when they do something positive, clap when they score and take this season in stride.

#1292110 GDT - 11/29/14 - Devils @ Islanders - 7:00pm

Posted by HellOnICE on 30 November 2014 - 11:34 PM

In 2006 he seemed to lose it.......????????

Fact remains, if we had better ownership, we probably would've won a cup in the last 3 years. If we had an owner who could've offered a better deal chances are we would've locked Zach up long term, Kovy would've stayed and we'd be a solid team.

Lou put together a contender but it was dismantled really with none of his own doing. That's what sucks so bad. He made the bold move, it paid off, then it came crashing down because Vanderbeek didn't have enough money.

#1283081 GDT: Devils vs Sharks (10/18) Home Opener

Posted by HellOnICE on 18 October 2014 - 10:40 PM

Just back.

The Arena: What a great job they did, really really really. The food options are much much improved. I really liked the sliders in the upper concourse and I am eager to try a lot of the other food as well. It's going to get me in the building spending more money on gamenights rather than guaranteed going to Dino BBQ or elsewhere pregame - so they are doing their jobs on this one. It just looks better too. More creative, more colorful and well thought out.

The 3D - I was actually sort of just meh on it. I mean really cool...really cool - but the design and what they did with it was anti-climactic and devoid of story telling. Something like that needs to build like a firework display and it was kind of flat. But still very cool. Hopefully they improve on it.

The sound - yeah I had sound issues in the upper concourse. I didn't mind too much what they played on the music-side as others did, but I actually felt it was too quiet. I think that's a problem with where the speakers are and the mix in the building. I was in 228, and just couldn't hear it that well and my hearing is fine. I will say though the GOAL SONG was too loud from the speaker (although it was quiet by me) but it sounded distorted and the vocals in the song mix was 'unhearable'.

Anyway as for the game - looked fine mostly, a little out of sync in the first half of the game. Much like everyone has said here about Sal and Gelinas. Gelinas was a train wreck all night, bad decisions. Zids was too, but at least he got some shots through. Gelinas was a loose cannon literally on that PP and gave the puck up way too much. Time for Larsson.

#1250929 Marty's Quote at trade deadline

Posted by HellOnICE on 07 March 2014 - 09:54 AM

We aren't reading too much into it. It's Marty.

I'd be fine if he said "I want to play. I want to play in the playoffs, but ultimately it's up to me. My job is to play as well as I can and make them play me. I'm here to help the team win and if that's playing every night, great. If it's to help Cory and the team in other ways, that's great too. It's not about me. I want the team to win."

Except he doesn't say that. He says he wants to play and talked to Lou about it, like a baby who wants a handout.

#1245486 moooooose is back

Posted by HellOnICE on 13 February 2014 - 10:31 AM

Come to think of it, when 30 gets traded is Moose getting a look as a backup - that way we don't have to get a goalie back neccesarily.

#1232580 GDT: Devils at Pens 7:00PM

Posted by HellOnICE on 13 December 2013 - 11:14 PM

It's not the refs.

We have two rookie defensemen back there who are being asked to do a lot. Maybe they shouldn't have been paired together against Malkin, who knows.

Cory had a weak start, but why doesn't Pete  say "well he hadn't started in a week." excuse the old man uses.

WE need to go back to Cory tomorrow and ride him. He's the better goaltender. He didn't get much work tonight, let's let him bounce back.

#1220268 Devils getting rid of R&R part 2 as their goal song?

Posted by HellOnICE on 27 October 2013 - 07:42 AM

Great post Df26. You're on the money. The tradition was the song, not the chant. No one was happier when a few years back RR2 was brought back, but the traidition was ruined with the chant.

#1216607 The Pete Deboer Thread

Posted by HellOnICE on 14 October 2013 - 06:07 PM

I don't know. At some point if Lou really wanted Mark Fayne in the line up like we all do, he could make that happen. This is a huge frustration for me. If he wanted JJ in the lineup, he could waive Gionta. My biggest problem is why these things aren't happening. We need to give Merril or Gelinas a chance too. They played well enough to earn a shot, a SHOT, who knows what will happen. However, these guys are offensive and we badly need those kinds of D. Are we coaching to win or coaching not too lose.

#1213708 Devils getting rid of R&R part 2 as their goal song?

Posted by HellOnICE on 05 October 2013 - 07:46 AM

The fans booing after the goal are, like many DEvils fans, immature and petty. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

RR Part 2 needed to go. However, the way the team handled it was extremely poor. They should've done it in the preseason and tested it out with several different songs. A fan vote could've been interesting too.

It still needs to change, This is Our House is not particularly good either. I'd rather hear Raise Your Hands from the Bon JOvi side, but whatever that's fine. They'll change it again, they have 2 weeks.

#976210 Anyone see Bettman at the game tonight?

Posted by HellOnICE on 05 January 2011 - 12:52 PM

Yeah the same guy calling for common decency is name calling. Makes perfect sense. And I'm the 12 yr old...

You're not really grasping the context here. If you think saying you suck to betteman is the same as doing to someone on the street then you're an idiot. I can't argue w someone who thinks like that.

Oh so you're gona conveniently cite media speculation as your basis for having an opinion on club policies? Ah I see. So media speculation validate things for you, but actual facts like Betteman stating he wants to move us to Nashville, or his poor communication w the devils and its fans, and subsequent penalties doled out to us, don't work for you. You keep living in that fairy world of yours...

I know you are but what am I?

You know John McMullen was the one who was going to move the team right?

Also one example of this was the Devils going home in between playoff games one season, I believe they were fined.

You don't know Bettman from the hole in your head. The guy has a job, he does it. From Gary's POV - Why should the Devils be around? They've only won 15 years in a row, and no one shows up and have struggled to stay in the black.

Oh and keep calling me gay. I appreciate it. f@g f@g just say it..I GET IT. FAIRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

Right but the president, whoever it may be, isn't trying to purposefully screw people over or contract your city lol. It's not very comparable. Brian rolston on the other hand would not be booed by me because he's not trying to screw us over. That said, if someone wanted to say that to his face then that goes w the lucrative profession he's in.

Also how do you know the President doesn't try to screw people?

George Bush doesn't care about black people, don't you know that.

#973103 Brodeur should retire immediately and spare himself the embarrassment

Posted by HellOnICE on 28 December 2010 - 01:36 PM

All this talk about respect for Marty. I am not a big fan of Marty, no surprise, I never respected his off ice performance in the bars with girls, or what he did with his sister-in-law, a lot of kids looked up to him not suck a good example. As for his goaltending, I have always thought he was a product of the Devils game plan "defense first" without that style he wouldn't be as good. I also thought he had the best defensemen (thanks Devils) in front of him and that improved his performance and numbers. He was always playing every game because the defensemen and Devils style kept the workload down, remember the trap? Marty was always having problem with the glove side and it has only gotten worse because of age. When he became bigger than the team with his MB30 it was always about him, and he rarely took fault. BTW he hasn't played well since bringing on the MB30. The NHL shootout gave more wins to him only not fair if it's a team sport but he personal records IMO got in the way of the team. His poor performance in the last olympics and his poor play during the past first rounds since the lockout focus a lot of attention on him and his performance. His ego is big and IMO it hurts the team. He has been accused of managing his time in goal and management couldn't stop him, and he has been accused of being part of team decisions and dumping coaches.

So for what it's worth he doesn't have my respect. Yes, I think he is a good goalie in the top 5 but never number 1 because it wasn't all him but he takes all the credit. I know what he says and I don't believe him it is the thing to say.

IMO he created his own monster. IMO what you see today is an aging goalie that was a product of the Devils system and great defensemen in front of him.

BTW there isn't a Devils forum that Devils fans aren't speaking negatively about Marty so it isn't unique to this forum as suggested by some.

Oh god shut the fvck up already. What an idiot. What he does in bars with girls? What he did with his wife? Who gives a sh!t? Honestly. Mr. fvcking high horse. Get off it you piece of garbage. I'm sure you're an angel.

You see what you want to. Your first sentence says it all. You have never had respect for the guy, never gave him a fairshot, can talk until the cows come home about his defense was the only thing saving him from a career like Trevor Kidds. The bottom line was it wasn't. The guy is hall-of-famer whether you like it or not, is regarded by GOALIES and HOCKEY PEOPLE alike to be in the top 5 all time.

Has he played well? Not really this season. Has he had the playoff success post-lockout? No. If you're trying to relate that to the loss of Stevens/Niedermayer - you may have a point. But to base the whole point that he was a product of a system, is such fvcking hindsight garbage. The truth of it is - it doesn't matter. He won 3 cups, a gold medal, and was INSTRUMENTAL in all 4. He's the shutout king, the wins leader, and so on.

But the last few, depsite the season he was hurt, there were largely times he was the only one standing in between us being blown out of the water. This season we're seeing now what should've have happened a lot sooner.

ANd yes, he's getting older, and slower, and breaking down - but for the fanbase to jump on him like this is fvcking disgraceful and makes me sick.

This is no different than the majority of Devils fans who couldn't find APPRECIATION if it hit them in the fvcking head. Same people who boo Niedermayer, Gionta, and so on. We are by far the dumbest fan base in the league, as a whole.

He's allowed to be criticized but this feeding frenzy, and piling on is disgraceful.
