The fact the people are seriously blaming Cory is unreal.
First goal = 100% his fault
Second goal = 5 on 3 PP with the worst PK in the league
Third goal = 1-on-1 laser beam after the defense let Hornqvist behind them
Fourth goal = Breakaway
Fifth goal = Unlucky broken play bounce through traffic
I have to know what game some of you are watching because NO GOALIE is getting 3 of those. You could argue the breakaway but breakaways to me are always on the defense. I just don't get half of these posts. I don't know what some of your expectations are for a goalie.
I still pull Cory though. He doesn't deserve to be hung out to dry like this.
Absolute and unyielding perfection game in and game out apparently
Mental illness is brutal. Luckily my family seems to have escaped it. But policing for 25 years, I saw it up front and it is bad. Some friends too, including a good friend of my wife who killed herself. She was married with 2 young kids. Dreadful.
My friend's mom killed herself a few years back, a few years after a divorce.
I used to be a teacher before doing my current job and talking a student out of doing something harmful to themselves was one of the scariest things I've ever had to do.
I have the utmost sympathy for families and individuals having to handle types of mental illness [whether it be from birth or developed later on in life].
I know many folks around here still hate LA for 2012 and frankly they didn't even bother me that year. They beat the Devils in a hard fought series and that's it.
I see so many similarities between this LA team and the great Devils teams. Stud goaltending, great defense with transition, opportunistic goal scoring, players who know their role and play it within a team game, fearless underdog attitude. I've got nothing but admiration for the stones this Kings team has.
