I beg to differ with you. Cory signed the extension in the off season before last season. Lou was GM with no thought of leaving. Lou was about winning. He didn't know that Lou would be ousted broom sweep clean and a full rebuild for the Devils. He never expected all this and could have never felt the Devils would be bad for sometime. As for being on board what else can he say or should say. He is a top goalie and knows he deserves better but I think he will wait two full seasons.
Fair enough. I get what you're saying, but as I said, I frankly can't see how Cory could have thought that the team would be competitive in the coming years with the roster in place, even with Lou still in charge, in less than minimum 3 years. It's pretty much known that the Devils have a long way to go. It's the reality with Shero as GM, and it would not be different if Lou was still here. If anything, the Devils might, and probably will, be successful more quickly with Shero than with Lou still in charge.
Schneider is by far the best player on the Devils, last season and hopefully this coming season.
Great player wrong team. If I were him I be saying Devils you have two seasons or you trade me.
I actually don't think Cory thinks that way at all. I mean, when he signed the extension last year, he knew the team was going to be bad for some time. I can't imagine him thinking the team would be competitive soon with the roster that was in place. I think he's on board with the process and the change.
