#1308014 Devils Trade Deadline Thread

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 02 March 2015 - 11:27 AM

I seriously hope we don't get Kessel.

Timid, quiet, weak guy.  Not a leader.  He can score, but he won't survive the Devils' system.  No way.

(in my opinion, of course)

#1306504 I really am beginning to hate our fans.

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 24 February 2015 - 02:33 PM

But it's the SAME things over and over again and it's not exactly constructive to have the board constantly fighting with each other. Especially when 30% of the thread is one guy who can't wait to find an excuse to complain about the fans, 30% is another poster constantly calling him out and 35% is the same old complaining about YS.

Devil fans as a whole are the most self loathing fanbase out there and this thread constantly proves it.

QFT.  Especially the bolded.

Schneider is horrible. How many years are we stuck with him?

Is this going to be your new "thing" going forward?

If so, please let me know so I can block you so I don't have to subject myself to your nonsense.

Energy was there, execution wasn't.

The official slogan of your 2014-2015 New Jersey Devils.

Well, that's that.

You know what - I'm gonna tune the game off. I came in at 3-1, now it's tied.

I'm clearly the problem

#1284327 Name an NHL captain less skilled than Bryce Salvador

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 24 October 2014 - 09:57 AM

Another thread that exhibits how lost the majority of fans are on this forum. Should there be a correlation between skill and one receiving the captaincy? Yes. Should it be the cause? No

Over the past 25 years look at the winners of the Cup, I can think of 2 to 3 instances where the most skilled player was the captain of the team.

First off - I love when people try to act superior to others on this forum / this forum in general.  It's like a new trend lately.  If some of you are so much more enlightened than the rest of us, you probably should just.. stop coming here, right?  It's especially ironic that you're calling us "lost", when you posted a thread the other day that 99% of the board was against.  Not to get too personal (because who has the time for that) but I feel like the facebook fanpage is more your.. breed.

Second - Who in this thread said the captain should be the most skilled player on the team?  I think most are saying the captain shouldn't be the LEAST talented player on the roster.

There's certainly a happy middle ground between skill and leadership, but I don't think Salvador hits it.

#1279129 Prudential Center's New "No Smoking" Policy

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 25 September 2014 - 09:17 AM

Also not a smoker, and never have been, so I'm going to take a bit of a harsh stance on this one.  Good, I'm glad they're doing away with it.  When that smoking deck is open during the intermissions that entire side of the concourse wreaks of smoke.

#1274002 Kovalchuk Retired Effective Immediately?

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 19 July 2014 - 05:11 PM

My gawd.  That right hook on Brayden Schenn...Good lord.  2012 will still go down as one of my favorite seasons to watch the team.  Hell, it might go down as Kovy's best NHL season.

2012 was definitely one of the most enjoyable and exciting years in recent memory I'd say.  Especially compared to the brutally boring hockey the team played last year.

Life's a real bitch - at the time we were expecting that kind of play from Kovy and Parise for the next decade.

Cango has improved since this season as well.

Agreed.  I actually don't mind him anymore.

#1273804 2014 Rookie Camp

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 16 July 2014 - 09:40 AM

Man the Devils have SO many quality prospects on defense.  It's truly a great thing.

(In no particular order) Larsson, Merril, Gelinas, Severson, Santini, Scarlett, Jacobs..even Burlon and Hrabarenka.. damn.

Does make you think some of them have to be expendable though.

I have to admit.. I was always adamantly against trading Larsson.  But if he's still got that flashy appeal to other GMs..and if he could snag a quality offensive prospect.. I'm starting to think it might be a smart move.

#1270065 Patrick Sharp available via trade

As others have said, perfect complimentary piece.  Bring him here expecting him to lead the offense, and I see him only scoring 20-something.

#1269869 Pat Burns is a HOF'er

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 23 June 2014 - 02:38 PM

Bout damn time.

Really a shame they wouldn't bend the rules to get him in while he was still around.

Still a great honor for him and his family though.

Can't even bash the guy right now.

That might've been the best SCF performance I've seen in 10 years

#1265720 Doc in NHL 15

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 27 May 2014 - 07:16 PM

Henrique's goal was two years ago.. Hardly living in the past to bring it up once every while.

Am I going to downplay the Rangers run this year by mentioning it? Hell no, that'd make no sense. But I'm sure as hell going to bring it up if someone tries to throw 94 in my face.

Another example of people worried about being too PC or whatever. Who cares. Devils fans don't need to be this super classy, holier-than-thou fan base imo..

#1264966 Confronting the Nightmare - UPDATE: NIGHTMARE OVER, KINGS WIN!

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 20 May 2014 - 11:27 AM

Eh you know they're going to win it.

With everything else going wrong this season that could (I mean literally.  I can't think of a positive to take away from this season) the hockey gods might as well cap it off with a Rangers cup victory.
