Just sheer idiocy, talks about history clearly hasn't looked for himself. Starting to think he's a troll because his stupidity is endless. It's actually becoming extremley infuriating because he has an opinion that conflicts with general consensus on everything. And even when he disproves himself and/or is shown facts to dispute his opinion he continues to stay stubborn.
I don't think he's trolling..I just don't think he realizes how frustrating he is.
Man I hate when new(ish) posters get ganged up on here - I love when the community continues to grow and new people join to post their thoughts. I like to think we're a generally friendly community, and I hope any lurkers watching this whole situation with Mike unfold aren't frightened off. So long as posters, old or new, are genuine I don't think anyone here will jump at you.
But Mike.. you're driving us all crazy man. Especially when you hop from point point and then use semantics to defend yourself.
About the playoffs, since you brought it up - that entire thread, you were steadfast in your claims that it would be foolish to sell, citing the current standings or other 'statistics' to prove your point that the playoffs were very much so in reach and that the Devils would make it no matter how improbable. But now you're apparently claiming you don't think they'll make it to the playoffs..so which is it? Why be so adamantly against selling off certain players we've discussed if you don't think they'll make the playoffs anyway? I (and others, apparently) don't get your logic - are you arguing just to argue? Playing advocate just for the sake of doing so?
It's just a frustrating cycle - maybe we're misunderstanding you but it sure seems like you're talking in circles at times.
So in other words, you don't like when people are being rational. Good to know.
Listen, I'm not going to entertain you with yet another board arguement so you can boost your post count some more - you've done enough of that in the past few days with different people in various threads. You're not rational - you're annoyingly and falsely optimistic. I refuse to get into it over something as silly as this.
My point here, again, is that I firmly believe the Devils should not be buyers this season. In fact, I think it'd be downright stupid to not trade several of Jagr/Zidlicky/Fayne if possible. Call up Gelinas, Larsson, and Boucher and let them play the season out. It'll be ugly, but at least it'll be progress.
And it's getting tiring seeing people reference the Devils as "just outside a spot". We need to look at trends here..not just current standings alone. Big picture stuff - does anyone here think the Devils will somehow magically find a way to get 65-70% of the points available from this point forward without something drastic like a coach change or huge shakeup trade (neither of which is likely coming)?
