#1273804 2014 Rookie Camp

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 16 July 2014 - 09:40 AM

Man the Devils have SO many quality prospects on defense.  It's truly a great thing.

(In no particular order) Larsson, Merril, Gelinas, Severson, Santini, Scarlett, Jacobs..even Burlon and Hrabarenka.. damn.

Does make you think some of them have to be expendable though.

I have to admit.. I was always adamantly against trading Larsson.  But if he's still got that flashy appeal to other GMs..and if he could snag a quality offensive prospect.. I'm starting to think it might be a smart move.

As others have said, perfect complimentary piece.  Bring him here expecting him to lead the offense, and I see him only scoring 20-something.

Bout damn time.

Really a shame they wouldn't bend the rules to get him in while he was still around.

Still a great honor for him and his family though.

Can't even bash the guy right now.

That might've been the best SCF performance I've seen in 10 years

Henrique's goal was two years ago.. Hardly living in the past to bring it up once every while.

Am I going to downplay the Rangers run this year by mentioning it? Hell no, that'd make no sense. But I'm sure as hell going to bring it up if someone tries to throw 94 in my face.

Another example of people worried about being too PC or whatever. Who cares. Devils fans don't need to be this super classy, holier-than-thou fan base imo..

#1264966 Confronting the Nightmare - UPDATE: NIGHTMARE OVER, KINGS WIN!

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 20 May 2014 - 11:27 AM

Eh you know they're going to win it.

With everything else going wrong this season that could (I mean literally.  I can't think of a positive to take away from this season) the hockey gods might as well cap it off with a Rangers cup victory.

There might be more disgust and anger here for the Rangers winning than there is for the Devils losing.

.. If I'm being honest, I kinda love that . The shared hatred some of us have for the Rags is definitely one of my favorite parts of this forum.

Man, this may sound stupid, but I'll take missing the playoffs periodically over the Sharks' track record any day of the week.

If the Devils collapsed after being up 3-0 on a rival, I'd probably need like.. A month to recover emotionally

#1259899 Brodeur: Devils have accepted mediocrity

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 10 April 2014 - 12:41 PM

I think it's definitely a little ridiculous to have 14m sitting on the third line when the team lacks any real top-end talent.  It's money sunk that would best be spent elsewhere..like on a 1st line player.

Of the Devils top-6 (and other scorers) this season..

Elias:  1W/2W

Zajac:  2C on a good team

Jagr:  2W on a good team

Henrique: 2C

Brunner: 3W (at best)

Ruutu:  3W

Clowe: 3W on a good team

Ryder: 3W, although I'd honestly argue he's less useful than that even

Zubrus: 3W at best

I mean..wow.  That's a pretty bad forward roster.  Jagr definitely overachieved this year which helped tremendously..unfortunately his contributions were kind of wiped out by Brunner and Ryder.

There's not a bona-fide first line player on this year's roster.  Wasting so much money on bottom-6 players like you're suggesting would be foolish.

What a bunch of children. Yeah parise is going to be really hurt with these boos. As his team marches into the playoffs and ours gets closer to elimination. You fools. He was the definition of a class act every single day he played here. I hope he scores a hat trick tonight and then wins the cup just to rub it in your faces you unappreciative stubborn toddlers.

You feel better now with that little outburst off your chest?

Hope so, cause you're hearing boos ALL night. Get used to it.

Clearly yes, because Stevens is an assistant coach.

Walked right into that one, didn't I?

#1253915 Who would take back Clarkson (at a discounted rate)?

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 18 March 2014 - 09:52 PM

If they took on at least half of that horrifically high contract, sure I would. Hard worker, 30 goal scorer. Sounds good. This season he's been a disaster, but he did protect the goalie's water bottle.

Not to mention, who else do we have?

You mean, 15 goal scorer.

That 30 goal season was the definition of a fluke, to expect him to do it again is just wishful thinking.

Does anybody know why Pete separated Elias and Henrique?

Because scoring goals is overrated.
