#1197503 Bryzgalov Bought Out

Do the Flyers have the assets to offer sheet Bobrovsky?

Because that'd be just hilarious.

Definitely needed to go to bed last night, but couldn't turn it off.  What a game.

Let's hope for another great 5-6 games!

#1189293 GDT, the 2013 Finale: Devils @ Broadway Blowhards

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 27 April 2013 - 03:55 PM

This forum has gone to hell man. When the regular credible posters don't show up it's not even worth checking here.

7 and LD have made this unbearable. I'm out.

#1186962 GDT New Jersey Devils at Leafs 7PM MSG+

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 16 April 2013 - 11:41 AM

I think Chico hit the nail on the head last night. He said something along the lines of "You need two things on a hockey team: talent and will. This team has a lot of will, but is seriously lacking in the talent department".

I mean, think about it, there really isn't a textbook "dangerous" player on this team besides Kovalchuck. Elias is crafty but is no longer really considered that dangerous on his own, Zajac and Henrique have proven to lack any sort of finish, and...well, that's it really in terms of dangerous top-6 forwards. Clarkson, Poni and Zubrus are tough power forward/grinder types who are great at cycling the puck and creating space, but what good is that if the result of their work is an easily stopped shot from the point?

This team has lots of character guys, and setup guys, but no finishers. That second line desperately needs a sniper.

Seven points back now (including tiebreaker), at least people can't invent unrealistic scenarios for the playoffs anymore now that it's totally out of the realm.

Hard to believe we were looking back at 8th just a few weeks ago.

#1178080 Potential Lessons from San Jose about how to Deal with 8 NHL Dmen

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 13 March 2013 - 01:17 PM

Oh my God, can we not jump on a guy who lives on the other side of the country about his business? Get over yourselves, Jesus

Anyway..Harrold's been used at forward before, but besides that I think any of our D besides perhaps Zidlicky are too slow to play the forward position. And if you take Zid off the back end, you lose his breakout passing/offensive contributions from the blue line. Probably not the best idea with the Devils.

Wasn't Burns used at forward ages ago in Minnesota?

#1172131 Canadian Anthem/ Chants

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 18 February 2013 - 09:46 PM

Tip: thicker skin, develop some.

It's a sporting event, with drunk and rowdy fans. Why some of you get offended by the "you suck" chant or heckling of this-and-that is still beyond me.

It obviously doesn't bother the athletes, nor the coaches. They realize what's going on and why the jeers occur, and I suggest you guys try and do the same.

Hey, even if Kovy doesn't win this one, I can take solace in the fact that he kicked the sh!t outa Parise in that very first vote. :giggle:

I'm rapidly losing faith in this process, and general interest in this mess of a sport right now.

#1145195 Fayne agrees to two-year deal with NJ

Posted by Devilsfan118 on 22 July 2012 - 08:54 PM

Run his course? He'll be 27. Why would anyone think this? Probably because he wasn't considered one of the top 100 prospects in 2005, as if that makes a difference now.

Because, while he's certainly a solid minute-eater, I don't personally consider Fayne to be anything special. I think he's a prototypical 3-4 D-man that has adapted to playing top-2 minutes in NJ. Certainly valuable to the team right now, but I'd hope in two years some of the prospects in the system are ready to move up and take his place.
