#1198040 Larsson and the No. 9 for Letang???????

Posted by SterioDesign on 30 June 2013 - 10:29 AM

i'd be willing to trade Larsson for the right deal. I keep telling myself that he's young and will get better but i simply don't see him having all the tools to be worth where we picked him or be franchise dman. His speed his average at very best, his shot his average, skating his average, his aggressivity is below average. He can have the best vision in the world and outlet pass, not sure it's compensating for what he's lacking and i dont see those areas of his game improving "that much" over time... to be a true top Dman you need more than that IMO. He's gonna be good for sure, but franchise dman good? i dont think so, i dont see it yet and im aware of the whole niedermayer thing yes. but nieds had incredibly above average skating, speed and vision who could compensate.

Unless they really heist someone with this deal, It's a step back for many seasons.  The Penguins just cannot go out and replace Kris Letang on the free agent market, players like that almost never come available.  They'll just waste James Neal's prime dithering around with mediocre talent on the backend.

Well if they are gonna lose him anyway in one season cause they can't afford him. Thats the thing, you have one year to make it worth if he stays, then if you're not the team lifting the cup. You lost your gamble and you lose him for nothing. Now thats a major stepback.

#1197062 Bryzgalov Bought Out

Posted by SterioDesign on 25 June 2013 - 01:02 PM

Bernier is cheap, Luongo is not.  I don't think anyone's going to trade an asset for Luongo unless they are getting some sort of salary cap relief themselves.

i know but now teams can retain and trade salaries they might work something that way.

So let's just recap the Flyers situation here for a second...

1- They trade Carter and Richards to make room for Bryzgalov.

2- Sign Bryzgalov to a 9 years, 51 millions contract.

3- Trade Bobvrosky to Colombus

4- Watch Carter & Richards winning the cup in LA.

5- Watch Bobrovsky winning the Vezina Trophy

6- Buyout Bryzgalov's contract and will have to pay him for 14 years

7- They still need a #1 goalie now....

good stuff, good lolz

i also said it before... if we let Clarkson go and decide not to overpay a little... well fine we may have saved an extra million? from a fair 4m to an unfair 5m per? but who could we sign at 4m or 5m on the market that could to a better or equal job as clarkson? none.

#1188412 Elias about Lou's free agents approach

Posted by SterioDesign on 23 April 2013 - 10:24 AM

Elias has a lot of positive things to say about the team mates and the coach. It's safe to say that if he is asked, he will stay.

just read that too it was encouraging, we absolutely need Elias.

#1186886 2013 NHL Draft

Posted by SterioDesign on 15 April 2013 - 11:39 PM

Well we only have 4more pts than the 27th position... Its not even impossible to be able to draft drouin or mackinnon with our own pick without even winning the lottery

Edit: actually the flames (27th) even have more regulation wins than us lol if you only look at the wins were bottom 4

#1174845 Is it panic time?

Posted by SterioDesign on 02 March 2013 - 07:43 PM

I'll say it again... losing zach is really underrated here, mostly cause people don't want to admit it and try to convince themselves that we're not.

Deboer called him the heart and soul of the team and he's gone.

Posted by SterioDesign on 24 February 2013 - 08:31 PM

He's not a good in-zone defender.    It stands out now because he's not doing anything 5 on 5.    He's a transition defender.   If he makes a good play around you or you make a mistake around him, you're fvcked.

I'm not worried about his defensive play, that's not what he's here to do, he's here to snipe rockets from the left side of the ice.    But apparently only Bobby Butler can play LW with a right hand shot.

yeah thats true... and yeah... i really like DeBoer but hes got that one wrong saying that Kovy did well last year on the RW so why would we change that? mmmm well Kovy became a superstar and scored about 95% of his goal from the left side in his career... why would YOU change that. Even this year Kovy often scored coming from the left side.

#1172459 How success kills good teams (and why S. Gionta needs benching)

Posted by SterioDesign on 20 February 2013 - 02:46 PM

Tri always brings some interesting stat angles to the table, especially since most hockey fans still aren't that aware of them.  Tri's problem has always been bedside manners when it comes to presentation...he can be arrogant, condescending, and almost robotic at times, and it has a way of getting under some people's skin (admittedly Tri has ticked me off more than once).  I think his demeanor has turned off some fans' to the Fenwicks and Corsis and other microstats he brings to the board.  But I've also defended his viewpoints when I've agreed with them, and I don't think he's far off on Gio to this point...yeah, the numbers for him look pretty good, but beyond the obvious numbers, there's solid reasons to wonder if he can possibly keep this up.

This is spot on for me Colorady ( lol ) anything I posted in this whole discussion is not cause i like Gionta or anything. it's based on the fact that i'm absolutely fed up with his way of saying things, not to the point of blocking Tri of course, he's a good poster. But now every time he's shoving shooting % in a discussion to make it looks smart it's getting under my skin cause it sounds so pretentious and often it's not taking into account anything else.

I mean when anyone on this forum would say something like "Henrique has been playing pretty well with Zajac lately"... Tri would likely go and make a statement in opposition saying something like..."Henrique shooting % has been down 2.3% since playing with Zajac and long run Deboer will have to split them up cause they'll run Kovy to the ground since he was maintaining a constant % and bla bla bla bla bla" or something similar. I mean... to me now it always sounds like someone trying to look smarter than anyone and its ticking me off every time.

Yes, that crazy stat I made up called shots on goal.
Oh look, Gionta last in Corsi once again:

So fvcking what !?!?! Did you even watch the game !?! Holy sh!t youre pissing me off with your godamn stats that means nothing.

Gionta was one of the best player who created chances with his forecheck today if youre not seeing that with ur damn stats well too bad for you.
