I don't see a need for Gomez since we already have 14 signed forwards for the NHL roster and guys like Matteau, Boucher, and Sislo in the minors, Kaberle could be a decent pick up though. If he performs I wouldn't mind Kaberle as our 7th defenseman instead of Harrold.

Out of conference but interesting nonetheless, Calgary signed Devin Setoguchi yesterday for 1 Year @ 750k, nice little signing for Calgary to fill out their Top 9. He'll probably play on either the 2nd or 3rd line RW. If I had to take a guess, probably on the 2nd line with Mason Raymond and Sean Monahan.

I'd like to see Hrabarenka or Helgeson get some time.  Why would the Devils sign another defenseman when they've been praising their own defensive depth for this entire off-season.  We have an 7th defenseman who will jump in in case of injury, and that's Harrold.  I understand the reasoning behind signing a depth defeseman that can bounce in between, but I don't see that happening.  You're going to have a depth guy that is going to be repeatedly exposed to waivers if the Devils have a multitude of injuries.  It's just much easier to move around a younger guy if the injury bug hits us hard.

Unless Severson is going back to Kelowna, which I don't think he is, i'd love to see him as the guy we give a shot to in case of injury, DeBoer said that Severson will be given a legitimate look to make the team in September but I think Severson's contract situation with him being able to go down without waivers is gonna prevent him from making the team, unless he REALLY impresses and grabs a job. So yeah, I agree, i'd rather just have our young d with guys like Helgeson or Severson come up and play instead of signing a veteran depth guy.

Josefson is the kind of player that's going to flourish in another system if we don't start to give him a legitimate chance, let him grow and I still believe JJ can become a solid 3rd line center for this hockey team

Re: Hrabarenka, I like the kid, i'm not sure he'll be an NHL player someday but I watched Albany a lot during the lockout and I was always impressed with him, can use his big frame to his advantage with his reach and he has a hard shot too. I wasn't able to catch any Albany games except for about half of one playoff game this past season so I haven't seen him play much recently, but from what i've heard he had a good 2013-14 campaign
