PSH, Devils are a part of my life. Why would I hurt them and myself by not going. I LOVE hockey, I LOVE the Devils they are my passion. I play in leagues, I go to any game if I have enough money, I watch any games on tv, I take trips to Philly Montreal Long Island New York and Washington to see them play. Why would I give up on my passion? I will renew my season tickets for next season if there is no season this year.
I actually love the Montreal fans haha. I go to Montreal once a year to see the Devils play there. The fans are very nice and I met a lot of good people up there, of course they do a lot of odd things during a hockey game, they are different but very passionate.
No one would score from the other team either. The Devils team of Zubruses would just endlessly cycle the puck in the other team's offensive zone.
The tellingness of that quote wasn't just in the fact that I like Zubrus and have since before he was a Devil, it's that the organization clearly recognizes this is one thing that they don't have AT ALL in their system. Not only do they not have it, they haven't had it for ages, which is probably part of why Zubrus was offered a 6 year contract - they didn't have it in 2007 either.
My sadness just built up as watched 1 goal, 2 goals, 3 goals scored in a 5 minute 5 on 4... the rest of the game I was just shellshocked... breaking the shutout wasn't any condolence. And with 10mins left... I just wanted the final horn to blow... and I think they did too.
I lost all of my sadness/anger when the linesman took down Volchenkov before the 4th goal. I knew right there it was not meant to be and it just became comical. It became even more comical when the refs gave Carter and Clarkson 10 minute misconducts after roughing minors. The game itself was a joke, the refs treated it like an unimportant regular season game. How can you hand out misconduct penalties just in order to control the game, it's the Stanley Cup! I had more appreciation for this team after it was all over.
It had to be said, I think the "we weren't even supposed to be here" or "this season is already a win" mentalities are getting to everyone's head. Sure it's a decent way to look at this but when you're two games away from being the best in the sport, then you roll over and your first reaction is to hit the clubs?
Within a couple of days you have players moving back with their familes in different states, and in different COUNTRIES. These guys wont be around each other again until training camp and some of these guys will never see each other again, ever. This is a tightly knit group of guys and I do not have any problems with this whatsoever.
I think he means the old school logo. Like, the current one is just a devil-snake holding his hand on his leg. Didn't we used to have a logo that was an N and a J?
Also, if this theory is true, what would the N and the J stand for? N, I'd presume, stands for Nasty. Devils, in tale, were always said to be Nasty creatures. And the J? I'm thinking.. you know, I don't really know.
OH MY GOD. I finally understand why theres a NJ in our logo and why Lou threw the jar of jam.
