#1297526 Breaking: Pete Deboer Fired

Posted by DevsMan84 on 26 December 2014 - 08:10 PM

Brooks who has always been very praiseworthy of Lou pretty much called him out a few months ago for the situation the team finds itself in. Even Pierre McGuire was pretty critical of the Devils recently. The media is starting to take notice finally.

I'm not saying I disagree with Chere in regards to lou should step aside soon, but what he goes after lou is ridiculous and what I read all the time on facebook, Twitter and here.

I mentioned the parise situation specifically. Chere is getting on him for not re-signinf him during the season before he bolted. He never mentions that he was about to until his agent told him to wait until free agency. He also neglects the fact that JVB had no money to sign another monster contract with parise after the Kovy contract (he does briefly mention JVB finances as a possibility but a few paragraphs after). Oh and he also gets on lou for the bad signings like for Clowe and Ryder but doesn't mention the contract parise eventually got which could very well be an even bigger albatross of a contract a few years down the line.

And yeah I agree the marketing thing is petty and this is coming from me who has gone after lou for the marketing in the past. If anything Lou should be held accountable to the on-ice product and his timr is quickly coming to an end here, but Chere needs to be a little more objective and fair to Lou when he wants to tear him a new one in a click bait article

This. I'm glad someone else can actually notice the big picture, and look at things rationally.

No team ever unloads, even the really bad teams. A team like Buffalo might sell off 1 or 2 key guys, and that's it. I also never said anything about buying or selling. I simply said trade. So there was no reason to believe I would want a trade to make the playoffs.

I would rather miss the playoffs and get a shot at a possible generational talent than make the 8th spot to be one and done.

Even if we only have a 2% chance at getting that #1 pick if we miss the playoffs I'm all in for that. I know you would appreciate that because of you being an advocate of low percentage chances.

The YS crew doesn't give up. Annoying, but persistent.

But remember, it is only the anti-YS people who are obsessed about it.

Hey lemmings, has Schtinker ever made a crucial save at a critical time?

Fatso would have flopped all over the ice and the game wouldn't have even reached overtime with a 6-3 Rangers win

#1283122 Here we go again. New goal song for 14-15

Is this all you do? Just get your kicks on berating others? Just because some fans want to chant YS. Lol.

I get my kicks berating others? After what you posted that people who don't like the YS chant are snobby amongst other things?

That's certainly the pot calling the kettle black.

Alas, the you suck people. The reason we can't have nice things.

The way the FB Devils fans make it seem, they really NEED the "you suck" part.  It's the air that they breath and without it they are suffocating and having their fan experience ruined by the inability to shout in unison with thousands of other man-childred "you suck"

#1273444 Schneider re-signs with extended multi-year contract

Posted by DevsMan84 on 11 July 2014 - 03:11 PM

Reminds me of the dopes who say they'd rather have the pitcher who has an ERA approaching 4.00 but has a winning record vs. the one who has an ERA in the low-to-mid 2.00 range with a sub-.500 record because the guy with the higher ERA "knows how to win".  Yeah, there's shades of gray here...an ERA can be bloated by a handful of putrid outings over the course of a season, and if you want to go into sabermetric territory you can bring up ballparks, etc...but the idea is to give up as few runs as possible so your team doesn't have to score as many runs to win.  If the guy with the low ERA is pitching for a lousy offensive team and/or is leaving games with leads and seeing his bullpen cough those leads up, is his team really losing ithe games that guy starts because he doesn't know how to win?!

Marty's decent GAAs the past two seasons had everything to do with the team limiting shots...on a lot of other teams, it would have been 3.00 or higher.  And Cory's GAA was light-years better than Marty's last season (1.97 to 2.51), so there goes the GAA argument with the fanboy crowd.

He actually argued the other way around by saying save % can be inflated by the team limiting the amount of shots on net.  For a self-proclaimed scout of anything he sure is a dipsh!t when it comes to his own material.  Not only that but he goes around like a friggin know-it-all and many people come and leave that group just because of him.

Also probably him defending Marty because of the other mods is a relative of Marty lol.
