Would everyone here take off their "I'm up the Devils butt and am a hard-up fan" hat for a second please...I don't disagree with this guy at all. The way I look at it is like this - that "no refund policy" should be excerciseable ONLY if the full season were to take place. As far as I am, and many other fans, are concerned, the league and its teams "broke" their contract with season ticket holders by giving them a partial season.

You have heard MANY, MANY, MANY team executives and players say - "This is the business"..."This is entertainment"...yada yada yada...so, if they feel that the business of entertainment can be run that way, well, the "buyer" has every right to complain that his entertainment was NOT respected in good faith...

Bottom line - I'm not impressed by Lou's phone call. Maybe you guys are "woooooooo'ed" by the GM of a team calling you, but as far as I'm concerned I didn't get what I paid for, and so, out of good faith and good will, the Devils should have respected this guy's request and HOPED he would come back next year...

You answered your own question. Hockey is ENTERTAINMENT as well as all professional sports. While the season has been cut almost in half this year, I didn't lose a single cent because of it. While the season ticket holders had their money tied up with the team, the team did indeed offer refunds or credit for every month that wasn't played. Not only that but the STH got interest as well as other perks previously not provided, so honestly they came out ahead in the long run.

To view season tickets as a contract is pure garbage IMO. They are just access to the arena to see your favorite team for the season at a discounted price and with some perks. Nothing more and nothing less. Until the team starts instituting PSL's (Highly unlikely for hockey and the Devils) or if they have something like cell phone plans where you must enter into a 2-year agreement where you have to have ST for a period of time, then season tickets ARE NOT a contract.

The guy in the article was just an entitled weiner who was just pissed off about the lockout, but decided to take it out on the Devils publicly in the paper.

I get the frustration on the part of the fan, but he was just grasping at straws with his reasons for trying to back out of this season. Good on the Devils for the way they handled this. I mean, imagine getting a call from Lou and being told that he'll announce a long-term signing for a major player later that day? That's insane! From the man with the tightest lips on the planet, he personally calls you and gives you the scoop? That's fvcking awesome! Then you get to hang in the owner's box and bend VBK's ear? This guy pretty much bitched his way into every fan's dream scenarios.

Honestly if it wasn't for bamboozled he wouldn't have gotten close to Lou at all.

Picked up a red Zajac t-shirt at Dicks in Freehold for $17 yesterday. Normally I've seen them run around $25. Only thing about it is it has a Stanley Cup Finals patch on the right shoulder which I didn't think was a big deal.

At least two whole racks of traitor Parise shirts. I saw a couple XL Zubrus's and Brodeur's. Was hoping they would have a couple miscellaneous players to add to the family.

They had those for $17 with the patch? Every Dick's I have been to have any player shirt with the patch on it for either $5 or $10 tops.

I really do try to completely skip and not respond to any of your posts. I think I've done pretty well since this only happens every few months and we both post quite a bit here. However when you directly start this crap with me don't get pissed when I make you look foolish.

We had Santorum run for president, that's basically the same thing. Egypt has every right to elect anyone they want into power. I don't care if they elected a three legged dog, it's their country. I know that Mubarak was an "ally" to the US, but maintaining an "ally" is not worth the oppression of an entire population of people. If Egypt wants to vote in extremist religious politicians, so be it, it's their problem, not ours.

I seriously don't understand why this country is so obsessed with terrorism and how it's a threat to the US. In the past 10 years, how many people in the US were killed by terrorists? Probably the same amount that were killed by falling pianos. We spend more money on the military than any one country could ever possible need to and we're still paranoid that, oh dear, a few people might be killed. I'm much more willing to run the risk of being killed by terrorists than I am to allow the PATRIOT Act to exist or Guantanamo Bay or to see this country flush cash down the military toilet as regular folk struggle to make ends meet.

Then please run for president when you turn 35 and dismantle the military and see how that turns out.

The world is full of looney leaders who make even the most "extreme" of our candidates look tame. They do not have any concept of diplomacy and wish to destroy the united states as well as their other enemies.

What the left doesn't understand is that the world has and will always be filled with wackos and evil and not by understanding people who want to get together to sing Cumbya. It took the largest and deadliest war in world history to defeat evil manifested as hitler and nazi Germany. It took over fifty years and many proxy wars but we defeated the soviet union by basically outspending the soviet union to death ( though the liberals will give you varying reasons, I have had the fortune of interviewing several CIA and smaller political leaders during a college project about the cold war and they all say this was the reason why we won). Either way we won because of our military complex.

This is why I haven't flown off the handle or even come close to being upset at the devils this series. They really are trying and working their asses off in this and like others have said we were only a couple of bounces and posts away from this series being 3-1 devils.
