#1138422 ‏Zach Parise has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Wild

If Parise splits then it's up to Kovalchuk to tell Semin that "This is Team!"

#1135997 Half Devils/Half Politics Poll

Posted by CarpathianForest on 28 June 2012 - 02:35 PM

I love the analogy Chuck brought up about the government being too involved in saying what we do with our money. What a slippery slope! Yeah, that pesky government with their roads, and safe drinking water regulations and meat inspections. If I wanna drink ecoli tainted water that's my right as an Amurican! The free market will sort it out. Chuck, your idea of the government eventually saying what car you can but is ludicrous and totally knee-jerk reactionary! The idea that the government would make you buy a certain car is much more in favor of right wing ideals than left wing. As a matter of fact it's exactly the idea that right wingers like, letting private interests influence public policy. It's pretty much the standard definition of the dreaded "F" word that the right wing is often associated with.

Plus, a car is not a necessity. Those things that(I think) the government should be involved with are all basic necessities that ,dare I say it, every American should be entitled to like for instance a free appropriate public education, fair wages, and oooh access to affordable, decent healthcare.

I'll be all happy watching Zach play for the Devils when I'm on my death bed from a cold that turned to Pneumonia because I can't afford Health Insurance. Thank You, Right Wingers! :)

I'm not afraid of any of my posts. I am comfortable and confident that they are all clearly inane.

#1131150 Bernier

Posted by CarpathianForest on 11 June 2012 - 10:39 PM

Steve Smith scored in his own net and the Oilers didn't make it to the SCF. The next year Gretzky handed Smith the Stanley Cup first.
Steve Bernier made a mistake that cost three goals that cost us the Stanley Cup. Next year Parise will hand the Stanley Cup to Steve Bernier first.

#1127887 GDT SCF GAME 3: NJ DEVILS vs LA KINGS

Posted by CarpathianForest on 04 June 2012 - 04:42 PM

Plus, with this comment, you are admitting defeat. Nothing has been won yet. Why would a team even THINK this way? Right now, I would rather put Clifford in than Gagne. He's been more game ready than gagne.

Is there not a Kings forum online somewhere?

#1126335 Why I'm not Bothered if We Lose the SCF

Posted by CarpathianForest on 30 May 2012 - 10:55 PM

If we lose the SCF I'll be disappointed but only for like 5 minutes. This is a great club that's only been in NJ for 30 years and has had a butt-ton of success. If you look at the past 30 years the Devils have won the most Stanley Cups behind Edmonton and Detroit. The Devils are also tied with the Red Wings for most cup appearances in the past 30 years. Our club is actually sitting a lost better historically than many other teams. Buffalo(SCF 0-2), Vancouver SCF(0-3), Rags(1 cup appearance in the past 30 years), Capitals (0-1), Sharks, Maple Leafs(Last cup win and appearance 1967). I mean look at LA even. They've been around for 45 years yet this is only their second Stanley Cup Final appearance. So while losing would be a disappointment, being 3 for 5 in the Stanley Cup is nothing to scoff at. I'll be okay raising an Eastern Conference Champions banner in the Rock.

#1100666 GDT: Devils (yay!) @ Rangers (boo!) - 3/19/2012

Posted by CarpathianForest on 19 March 2012 - 09:27 PM

A few things I came away with:

1. Lundquist is human. Get in close, high shots, get him moving.
2. Parise, Kovalchuk and Henrique have been replaced by pod people.
3. The Rangers will collapse if you get sustained pressure on them.

BTW, I don't think the Rangers match up well against either the Caps or Sens. Plus if the Rags end up in 4th, they will play Philly. Those two will beat the crap out of each other and Summer's Eve will probably be a major series sponsor.
