#1196890 NJ bans trash talk from high school sporting events

Posted by Onddeck on 24 June 2013 - 05:30 PM

perfect example with whats wrong with us as Americans.  Raising kids who aim to achieve a participation trophy has brought us to this point.

people consider themselves, and their kids, as self-entitled... what a shame man

#1192923 2012-2013 NHL Playoffs

Posted by Onddeck on 24 May 2013 - 07:09 AM

LA - Boston would be feisty as heck. I'd enjoy that, even though I'd hate for one of the last 4 Cup winners to win again. Much rather see Sens or Sharks win it.

Exactly. I'd certainly enjoy it but will guarantee that I would hate either outcome

#1141857 ‏Zach Parise has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Wild

Posted by Onddeck on 07 July 2012 - 12:42 AM

And that is the problem. It gets worse by the day as more and more comes out. The constant spinning of information (what I really meant was) is like a 5 year-old trying to cover up for doing something bad. The smartest thing he could have done from the beginning was shut his mouth and say nothing. But that was not about to happen. He wants to go home and play with his little friend fine. Keep them all happy because I really don't care.

As my old friend the Penguin said in Batman returns, "You gotta admit I played this stinkin' city like a harp from hell." It was more than one city he did that to.

Alright alright yo I'm tired of people sayIng how Zach played us and how they think they've figured it all out.

Quotes like, "dont worry," or, "im loyal," are so blown out of proportion and are completely legit. The bottom line is he wanted to go home. We didn't short him with a weak contract and he didn't stiff us with selling out for money.

He wanted to play for Minnesota- what do you exoect him to do-force himself to play for us? All we can ask for is someone who isn't a dickhead about it.

The guy worked his ass off for us every night. He played his heart out for us and we have to respect that he truly wanted to play for minn- its his fvckin choice

He did not play us. If anything he just bought himself some time by not admitting he'd rather play for minn. but what'd you want him to do? This decision would determine his future for the next 13 years, I'm pretty sure that matters more than out feelings for like 2 days

#1135994 Half Devils/Half Politics Poll

Posted by Onddeck on 28 June 2012 - 02:32 PM

How is it that Obamacare will make insurance more expensive for you? The idea is that by expanding the pool of people buying insurance, especially since you're forcing younger, more healthy people to buy insurance, that it will bring the average cost of insurance down. This is based on a wealth of information gathered from other country's universal healthcare policies.

No, devaman is right about the premium part.

The young are healthy, and have a low premium. The old are not, and have a higher premium. When you expand and virtually put everyone in the same pool, there is a premium average. So with this new pool, you have to see that premiums are higher for the youth and lower for the old, generally.

Do you see what I'm saying?

as sad as the story of Boogaard is, fighting does not need to be taken out of the nhl until fighting isn't a sport in itself
