#1330202 Press conference with Marty on Tuesday

Posted by '7' on 06 October 2015 - 02:06 PM

I don't know where they plan on putting the statue, I'm guessing Championship Plaza, but is it possible it could be inside the building somewhere? And yeah I agree about the drunken Rag fans who will inevitably act like the a$$holes they are around the statue, but that isn't a reason to not give Marty a statue he's very deserving of.

He definitely does deserve it. But I would just...make the pedestal high enough so that it would be hard to scale. And that it would be a long way down for anybody who tried in a drunken stupor.

One of the biggest nights in the franchise's history.  Sounds about right.

If that was NYR and if they were re-retiring Messier's number expect that to start at $1000.

Surprised the Rags didn't spread it out and retire each individual 1 on his jersey separately.

The Graves retirement was a bit of a joke. Adam Graves? C'mon. You don't see us retiring Randy McKays.

20 years ago Roy had an appendendectomy during a series against the Bruins and came back to play in the exact same series...so this isnt totally unusual.

Go Bolts go. Shove it up there a$$hole captain cally!

Brooks is washed up. Half the stuff he writes makes no sense. The column he wrote on the Islanders irked me. It lacked decency. It would've been great for the city. The Caps are more than Ovechkin and Backstrom. Kuznetsov was their most dangerous forward. Ward is pretty effective as are Brouwer, Chimera, Johansson, Laich. Adding Orpik and Niskanen improved the D. They play Green on the third pair with Gleason.

I expect a tough series. Especially without Zuccarello. The Rangers get Klein back. Yandle didn't practice but he's playing Game 1 Thursday. It'll be up to other forwards to step up without Zucc. MSL, Kreider particularly. It should be a good series.

it will be a good one. Should go 7. Toss up really, Rangers are still the better team even without MZ and a hobbled Yandle. And they're used to game 7's. Coin flip...but edge Rangers if I were to be unbiased.

Pens will lose tonight. Expect the Rags to score early and then Pitt will sulk for the rest of the game,

The Devils don't have the marquee players to be included in such a commercial. If Brodeur or Kovy was still here...sure.

But c'mon...on our ice they couldn't have thrown us a bone and put Jagr or Elias in?

#1295988 We aren't getting McDavid or Eichel, it's time to realize this

Posted by '7' on 18 December 2014 - 11:19 AM

I don't think it will happen either. We're starting to get healthy, Elias is back and looked good yesterday, Zubrus and Cammalleri will be back. Plus now we actually have a legit backup in Kinkaid, the team will win games. Not enough to make the playoffs but enough to disqualify us from McDavid and Eichel.

That's it...enough. This is Deboers 4th season as Devils coach and the constant never-ending theme is blown leads blown leads and more blown leads. This team is so undisciplined and mentally weak in its own zone when trying to hold a lead. It happened in Philly to start the season (3-0 to 3-3) heck even in Tampa we were up 1-0 with about 10 to go and blew that. And the personnel changes but the results never do. They never do. Add in his bizarre, maddening roster management and the fact that we've missed the playoffs in consecutive years (unheard of for this franchise) and this year they're a penalty taking machine with no ability to kill penalties (something else that the Devil usually always do well not take penalties and KILL THEM when they do take them)

Up 3-1 to the Rags and we leave a point on the table. This was HIDEOUS.

All the good feelings of the 3-0 start are now history and we're long past the afterglow of the 2012 cup run.

You know Lou is stewing after this one. Now I don't expect any knee jerk moves from him as that's not his style. Deboer won't be on his ass tomorrow. But I think this game better start a clock in Lou's head, where if they're not playing up to capability by a certain date then Deboer is a goner. This team is really talented. We have depth and speed and are better than the crap that occurred tonight.

I'm shocked at how long Lou has tolerated gag-job hockey. Claude Julien was fired for being in first place. Larry got fired a year after making it to the finals and 2 years after WINNING a Cup. Pete DeBoer can turn this team into an on-ice circus and he just gets a pass for YEARS
