We need to find out if this has been printed in previous years and we just haven't noticed it...or is printed on all teams tickets...in case arena difficulties force a change of venue, not necessarily a winter classic.
When Rag fans use the attendance argument, you know things are becoming unglued. That's basically the only thing they had to use against us in the late 90's early 2000's. And even that argument can be poked full of holes. Remember when the Isles got a little better in the early 90's...you saw tons of Islander fans at the Garden. Remember 1993 when Turgeon eliminated the Rags. VERY AUDIBLE Islander fan reaction this idea that they have some sort of "tradition" (thinnest of the original 6 btw) and amazing fan base is simply untrue. They're not on the Leafs or Habs level. I'm betting Chicago and Detroit probably have a more knowledgeable core of die hards in the midwest. NYR is still too many elitist fair weather suits
The Devils fan base right now is about as loud, large, and passionate as it's ever been. And we did sell out opening night. So maybe they're starting to feel a bit threatened with the amount of noise our fan base is beginning to make. Maybe they feel encroached upon. But they still draw upon the same old tired arguments "Devils-Rainjizz in Jersey? bah haff da crowd is Rainja fanz!"
Having two rocks on the blueline is similar to have a great 1-2 punch in the starting rotation. It's no guarantee that you'll win the WS, but it's pretty much a guarantee that you're going to be good every year. Look at us with Stevens-Nieds, look at the Rags winning their lone Cup with Zubov-Leetch, St Louis was very competitive with MacInnis-Pronger. The Avs won a cup with Blake-Bourque
Not saying Merrill and Larsson will be like any of those players...but we can't give either away and have to take the chance of both of them developing here. Because if both reach FULL potential, it's gonna be pretty fvckin good.
How dare you take shots at Eli. When the Jets have the 29th pass defense and are dead last in rushing and Sanchez carries the team on his own, then he will get some credit. Sanchez has been nothing but a product of a great defense that is now aging.
The last two years, Eli has carried the Giants on his own. Sanchez has the moxie of a mitey mite.
yea great job by Eli...he has one of the best lines in football, they've drafted him great receivers, and they've also had the benefit of 2 of the luckiest plays in super bowl history(as well as much easier roads to the super bowl than the jets). wonderful skillful performance as he lobbed up a dead duck that somehow stuck to tyrees helmet, and how plaxico for so many years bailed him out by catching his massive overthrows. He still throws some of the ugliest interceptions you'll ever see.
Well we took the Rags best punch and survived...sure some luck was involved but you know what...
the rags 3rd goal was luck
the fact that blatant high stick on callahan went uncalled was luck. That still has me angry, even after the win.
so whatever, that's the way the cookie crumbles. I know what went on, Torts drilled it in them "everybody is saying you're done, tired etc" so after the initial 3-0 shock they rags played with renewed fire and intensity
WE STILL WON
we broke there fvcking hearts. You can bank on it. The rags won't play at this level again, and neither will the Devs.
