#1284458 It is game 7 of a new season

Posted by capo on 24 October 2014 - 05:48 PM

I would argue that Lou has made some pretty good moves lately.  It's not like we're talking about the NYM here.  Lou has done pretty well with the player situation.  I'm not crazy about the coach.  I never have been...  I'm not crazy about the Larsson situation but I don't think he should be playing over anyone but Salvador.  However, I understand that Larsson isn't the type for that role.  Larsson didn't need to be up here for 3 years.  They should have sent him back to Sweden for his 19 yo year.  They made the same mistake with Matteau.  Lou isn't perfect but he hasn't been horrible.

#1277470 TSN: An NHL Team in Toronto Could Be Yours For - $1.2 Billion?

Posted by capo on 09 September 2014 - 03:42 PM

Some fans will just have to resort to reading about their favorite teams on message boards until they haven't watched to the point that they just don't give a sh!t any more....

#1267409 congrats to the 2013-14 Champs, the Kings

Instead of bitching about bad calls, Rangers fans should be more pissed off about their team blowing two goal leads.

#1203904 Bad or Unlucky? The 2012-13 Season.

Posted by capo on 17 July 2013 - 01:01 PM

Doesn't this kind of speak to us just being bad? Look I'm optimistic about this season and stuff, but we might be looking to deeply into this, I surely remember games last year like the one against Toronto, out shooting them by 30 shots and losing 1-0, but isn't a team that gets that many puck to the net, and doesn't convert on the chances a bad team? I mean if we had good players, and more specifically good players, those pucks would have found the back of the net.

100%  Talent scores goals.  The Devils always get maximum effort from their players and that's why they outshoot teams.  They outwork them.  Ultimately, it takes talent to score at this level and this is where the Devils are lacking.

#1202083 Kovalchuk Retired Effective Immediately?

Posted by capo on 11 July 2013 - 04:43 PM

This is all because of Bettman and his douche bag crew of greedy fvcking owners.  I don't blame the player at all.  The league didn't honor his contract and it pissed him off (and many others).

#1163051 Salvador officially named captain

Posted by capo on 15 January 2013 - 09:10 PM

The C is not a popularity contest and the C should not automatically go to the best player on the team points-wise.

The captain is the in-between with the refs and the coaching staff. Language barriers (Kovalchuk is not a native English speaker) do not help with this.

The captain has to be a leader on the ice and in the locker room. We don't see Salvador in the locker room but the coaches do--that should tell you something.

The captain has experience, leadership qualities, proven himself under stressful situations and is a team player. Salvador's career could have been over two years ago but he came back stronger and better than at any point in his career.

I laughed when Crosby was named captain of the Penguins at such a young age. If I was a 35 year old NHL veteran, I wouldn't have taken him seriously, even if he put up 200 points a season.

The captain also can't suck!

#1158279 Lockout 2012-2013 (Hockey's back!)

Posted by capo on 07 December 2012 - 07:58 PM

The players can't cave at this point. It has to be their agreement. They gave way too much in the last CBA and they've offered to give away a ton again. This is a profitable league the way it stands. If the NHL has teams losing money it's their problem and has nothing to do with the players. The players have given enough. There shouldn't be teams in Nashville, Phoenix, Florida and so on. You could even argue New Jersey (I know... just saying...) Bettman and co. are at fault for the locations of these franchises. This isn't about us as fans this is about the players and their payers. The owners can't control themselves from themselves and that is why we are where we are. It has nothing to do with the players. The players have given plenty.

#1140288 ‏Zach Parise has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Wild

Posted by capo on 04 July 2012 - 06:56 PM

Last 12 months? I bet they were talking about it during Draft Day, 2003. 'Hey, when we become NHL stars, let's play on the same team, okay?'.

I bet Zidlicky was talking about coming to New Jersey with Elias, Zubrus, and Sykora when he went on vacation with them as a member of the Wild. Guess Zidlicky was probably having wild group sex with them, also. What a snake in the grass.

I've agreed with a lot of things that you've said lately. However, this is a douchebag post.

#1119247 The Official Rangers Suck Thread

Posted by capo on 12 May 2012 - 11:09 PM

The Rangers only hope is Lundqvist. He bailed them out the first two rounds to the 7th and 8th seeds and he'll have pull a miracle out of his ass to win this one. If he can do it. We'll never live it down. I hate these fvckers so much I want to sweep these a$$holes. The best part about it is the team hates them as much as we all do. Let's Go Devils!

#1069407 The Kovy Conundrum

Posted by capo on 03 December 2011 - 12:22 PM

The Devils have to stop trying to turn this guy into something that he is not. He needs to be on the left side in all situations and they need to pair him with a playmaker. (Elias) He is our current edition of Almo. He needs to concentrate on getting in the clear for quality shots on goal and his playmaker needs to get him the puck in the clear. Ala what Gomez did for Mogilny. We don't have a Gomez any more and Elias is our closest thing. Kovy on the point on the PP is just plain dumb. The Devils problem is they have no one else to do it. Larrson just simply isn't ready yet.
