I look at this picture of Pat raising the cup in 2003 and I see a warrior who fought the good fight until the very end and never gave an inch. But most of all I see a man who touched so many lives and had such an effect on all who knew him.

Damn it, Pat. I'm literally at a loss for words. I knew this was coming, but it's so hard to accept now that it's finally here.

I will see you in my mind's eye with that "Go to hell" snarl on your face and that s**t eating sparkle in your eyes for the rest of my life.

Go with God, Burnsie. And may the Great Good Lord hold you in the palm of his hand forever.

I don't much care what anyone else says at this point in time. I have major issues with blackmail and that's exactly what the NHL is doing to the NHLPA.

The union is ineffective, about as useful as tits on a boar hog, and couldn't negotiate their way out of cage match with two freaking hamsters. Bettman and Co. have them by the balls with their right hand, a butcher knife in their left hand, and a demonic grin on their collective faces as they say to the NHLPA, "We have a deal, don't we? Or do you want to be castrated?"

I'll say more about this later, but I will say right now, I wonder how the players feel about their UNION right about now?

Wonder if they'd like to decertify the dang thing and start all over again because the NHL has officially broken this one's back.

Try scorched earth or nuclear winter, whichever you prefer.

I'm not disputing that the first Kovy deal and Hossa's are vastly different. My point is that the NHL dropped the ball not challenging the Hossa contract. That would've set a much clearer line in the sand.

Indeed, thankee kindly.

I can understand people attempting to bugger off Hossa's contract saying it's vastly different, but the reality is that the NHL completely blew it by not challenging it when it was submitted.

In my world, cap circumvention is cap circumvention. I don't care what you try to dress it up as.....IT'S CAP CIRCUMVENTION.

Give me a freaking break with this crap that the contract and those like it that have been shrugged, nodded, and winked at are now "under investigation." The NHL isn't going to do crap wrt those contracts after the fact.

Let's say that Osama and the Mullah Omar have painted themselves into a bloody corner.

Morons.

One more thing, I'd like to ask Bettman this, if I had the opportunity to if this one is rejected too:

"So Osama, how's it going to feel knowing that during your tenure as zoo keeper for the NHL you've had two lookouts and are now looking at yet ANOTHER lockout or a strike? Think the sport will survive that you piece of horse manure? Good day to you and your lackey the Mullah Omar."
