I'm not sure they could get any more power.  The problem is they literally have had unquestioned power in their respective areas up until recently.  Even so called experts or aces lose their edge so to speak.  I don't think they are by any means among the very worst in the league, but they certainly aren't batting a very good average over the last decade since the first lockout and it's reasonable to question given their ages/time here, that they've gone a bit cold/rusty.

Lou built a team that went to the Stanley Cup Finals 5 times and won it 3 times yet you still complain about his expertise. Talk about ungrateful.

NJDevs.com Home of the fairweather fans.  Imagine if the Devils actually started to rebuild.  Half of this board would disappear.  The Devils have no assets to make these big moves that everyone here is begging for.  It really sucks that you guys thrive when the team is doing bad and once things start to look up you guys will still be here saying, "I told you so" like nobody noticed that months ago all you could talk about was how much you can't stand Lou.  Go suck your thumb some more and cry about how Lou needs to be gone.

This +1,000,000

I can't stand so-called Devils fans who b*tch and whine about everything Lou does. Talk about ungrateful. Lou has built us numerous championship teams and all you "fans" can do is cry about his drafting and supposed free-agency failures. Well, to me I think his track record is pretty damn good! Why don't you go root for the Islanders or Oilers, then when you come back wishing to re-join us at the Rock, you can get lost.  Seriously, just take all your Devils merchandise and burn it, because we don't need you!

As for those who keep bringing up Gionta's name, go take a hike too! I actually think Brian is a consummate professional and I'd be happy to have him on this team. But you bring up his name as if to mock him or to mock Lou. Just to shove your nose in it, I hope Lou does sign him and gives all you fans the middle finger.

I agree with Rizz. You all suck.

Bernier is trash, Sal is trash, and that scenario is a fvcking nightmare. Two years ago means sh!t now. You need to put the fvcking pom-poms down mdd.

Bernier had a down year last season but he'll bounce back. Why write him off? As for Sal, he's the team captain. You can't exactly throw him out too. He provides leadership. Besides, I highly doubt Lou thinks Sal and Bernier are trash. If he did, they wouldn't be on the team.

As for Brian Gionta, he is being pursued by the Canadiens between now and July 1st, but I think Lou could pull off a deal that lands him here. Again, Gio brings tremendous leadership and stability, and this team could use that. I dunno, I don't get the disgust people have for him rejoining the team. Lou values players that buy into the system, which is why it's best to bring back former Devils. They know the system works.

Carter should definitely return. I also have absolutely no problem with Gionta, Bernier, and Sal coming back. They helped us get to a Cup two years ago. They're not exactly trash. If Lou got Brian Gionta back, it would be cool to see the Gio brothers playing on the same team.

The Rags got lucky this entire series. They never should have made it this far if it weren't for the refs. Fvck that, next year we will dominate the East because I know Lou will right this ship. Rags can't keep up this success, they had their 15 minutes of fame.
