#1199028 CLARKSON SIGNS w/TORONTO $36.75M / 7yrs

Posted by MadDog2020 on 02 July 2013 - 10:55 AM

wow Clarkson's agent sounds like a douche, well maybe not but that quote is rubbing me the wrong way.

http://blogs.northje...n_devils_offer/

And Clarkson could have very well been facing life without the NHL had Lou not given him a chance.  One word:  undrafted.

I know this is the agent talking, but man does he sound like the stereotype of so many agents...just an annoying, wormy little zilch who took his share of playground pummelings as a youth.

Do your job, get your client the best contract, I get that part of it, but don't be a dick.  That approach may work with some GMs, but it definitely isn't going to get it done with Lou.  Just ask Gilles Lupien.

fvck the agent and fvck Clarkson. If that's how they're gonna treat this, they can hit the bricks. 'Economic peril'? 'Life without David'? Suck my fvcking balls Pat Morris, you little cocksucker.

#1198224 2013 NHL Draft

Posted by MadDog2020 on 30 June 2013 - 06:15 PM

For those of you whining about not taking a forward with that pick, I have some news for you- a second round pick isn't making the team. Hence, anyone drafted there isn't going to be contributing goals this season. Relax and let free agency and the rest of the offseason play out, it doesn't end today ya know. I swear, the kneejerk reactions and lack of any reasonable foresight around here is mind-numbing sometimes.

#1198045 Larsson and the No. 9 for Letang???????

Posted by MadDog2020 on 30 June 2013 - 10:38 AM

I still wouldn't I'd do it. As high as I and everyone else is on Merrill, Gelinas, Severson etc, none of those guys have played a minute (sans Gelinas) in the NHL. Larsson has proven to be an above average NHL defenseman at the age of 20 with over 100 games (plus a few playoff games, and a playoff goal to boot) under his belt. His ceiling is extremely high. And defense wins championships. I'm not trading Adam Larsson for anything that isn't a young, proven, impact defenseman in return. Meaning, I wouldn't trade him at all, because that's not happening. This kid should be a franchise cornerstone. I wish we had these boards back in the day, I can only imagine how many people would've been kicking Nieds out the door between '93 and '99 lol.

Larsson doesn't have the potential of Nieds so the comparison is moot. Larsson is already pretty gun-shy about taking big hits. I just don't see him being above an average defeseman. If we can bring back a solid scoring winger like Seguin or Ryan then do it.

I'm not comparing them, I'm saying idiot fans foolishly wanted to trade Nieds years ago as well. Thankfully, they weren't in charge. And thankfully they're not in charge now either or we'd be the fvcking Rangers. And lmao at all these scouts on here who've already given up on Larsson. You guys are fvcking hilarious.

#1198033 Larsson and the No. 9 for Letang???????

Posted by MadDog2020 on 30 June 2013 - 10:19 AM

People need to stop wasting bandwidth with the Larsson trade proposals. Give the kid the proper time to develop, he's 20 years old. Our defense should be built around him for the next 10 years. If you want to trade Adam Larsson for anything less than Drew Doughty or Duncan Keith, get off my fvcking lawn.

#1197964 Thank You Jay !

Pando was the fvcking man. Enjoy retirement Pando. Hope he comes back and plays in the alumni games when they have them.

Great Devil. Brutal last year and a bit for him in NJ, but did a lot of good things for many years that should never be forgotten. Was a huge contributor to the 2003 Cup team.

Amen.

Has there ever been any talks about changing ours?

No, and there won't be. Don't worry about it.

#1193651 Rags fire Tortorella

Posted by MadDog2020 on 30 May 2013 - 01:07 PM

I would dance a jig if the Rags hired Messier as head coach. Can you imagine if he was an epic failure (which is likely)? The media ripping their golden god because the power play sucks, the fans turning on their ultimate hero because the team is massively underachieving (in their eyes, we all knew what a disaster it would be lmao), and he juggles the lines too much... So much potential gold. So much potential win. But it's not gonna happen, I can't see them hiring someone with no previous NHL head coaching experience. My money is on Lindy Ruff.

Through 4 playoff games, Parise has 1 point and is -6. That warms the cockles of my heart.

Haha I figured you enjoyed that bro. MacLean is my homeboy. That sh!t was classic!

Habs fans on my facebook are going crazy about it lol

Make sure to remind them that the entire hockey world thinks they're a bunch of whiny little fairies, and that we all love Paul MacLean. Pour some salt in their wounds, they deserve it.

#1190486 2012-2013 NHL Playoffs

Posted by MadDog2020 on 05 May 2013 - 05:04 PM

I may catch some flack for it (probably should since it is a Devils board) but I still enjoy watching Parise play the game. Love his work ethic and hockey sense. I still have mixed emotions on him leaving but I'm not angry at him. Sure the Devils would've made the playoffs with him here but at least they aren't stuck with his insane contract. At least I can still cheer for him in international play. He's always been solid and clutch for the US team.

Zach Parise can eat a bag of dicks. Period.

#1189951 Kovy and Lokti - 2013 IIHF World Championship

Posted by MadDog2020 on 01 May 2013 - 08:44 AM

Oh please. They invited Erik Gustafsson

Many international bodies (US at the Olympics, cough) sort by age.  Larsson will be invited to plenty of these events before his career is over.

Hopefully in the future, he'll be preoccupied and won't be able to accept those invitations. :P

Also, I want Pete to give it to Rooney in the postgame. I'll start a fund to pay the fine. Seriously. Someone with a Twitter account tell TG that.
