  1. It was literally something. Pu is probably a Quenneville level prospect and a the draft picks are pretty good. Maybe Carolina could have played it better and gotten a little more, but you are correct that they just saw him as kind of a loser and wanted to be done with him. I can live with Ray not giving up a similar package for him.

  2. I'm sorry, anyone who thinks that athletes make personal appearances and they don't charge for autographs hasn't been paying attention. I used to go to baseball card shows in the 80's and they'd do that. I still have a dual signed picture of "the play" signed by Mookie and Bill Buckner hanging on my office wall. How is this even a question? Different story if the team is doing it, as is the case in NJDFan's Lightning example above. But that's not what this is. I'm not going to go there and get a Henrique autograph, but those pucks are pretty badass.

  3. @ChrisRyan_NJ Sergei Brylin will remain as an assistant coach with new Binghamton Devils coach Mark Dennehy ETA: Here's a good read to go with the tweet: https://www.nj.com/devils/index.ssf/2018/08/how_devils_hired_mark_dennehy_2_months_after_takin.html Snippets: Fitzgerald had three desires for his ideal coaching candidate: someone with head coaching experience, someone who can teach, and someone who can motivate and inspire to create a fun yet demanding environment. ____ Dennehy has ties to people in the Devils' organization, with some coming in recent years and other relationships forming long ago. He coached prospect Brett Seney for the last four seasons at Merrimack. He knows Brian Boyle. Dennehy even coached an 8-year-old Kyle Palmieri. Oddly enough, he once offered Fitzgerald a job. When Fitzgerald retired from his playing career, Dennehy offered him a spot as an assistant coach. Fitzgerald turned down the gig, choosing to take time and focus on a path to management. ____ "One bit of advice I got from someone in the pro game is you want to follow someone that's successful and learn as much from them as you can," Dennehy said. "There are a lot of really good hockey minds (in the Devils' organization), and that's one of the things I'm most excited about, is learning from them."
