He can bomb it and he can finesse too.

He is doing exactly what he needs to do. Getting sent down could have been a knock to his confidence, but he is going out and getting the job done.

He keeps that up and he’s gonna force his way up here within a couple of months.

Goddamn these are hilarious! Years ago, a bunch of us went on a road trip up to Boston, for a Devils-Bruins game (Jamie and her dad were a part of it, among several others). Just before the opening faceoff, we all started yelling “LET’S GO DEVILS!” as loud as we possibly could. The Bruins faithful heard us. And suffice it to say that they let us all KNOW that they heard us…the boos were deafening. Devils won the game (think it was 5-2…Raycroft was in net for the Bruins). Was a fun road trip…Bruins fans ribbed us a bit but no one gave us a hard time.

6-2 is how it ends, Talvitie with a one timer a la Holtz from the oposite side, with Flynn getting the 6th. A good start. Hoping for good things for this team, would be nice to see a number of them take that step in development.

And he needed the minutes, more than anything else. He wasn’t going to get enough of them up here to start. But yeah, at least he’s not sulking, as some guys do.

I am late in posting that I was please with the Devils' first game. Hughes was awesome. Andreas Johnsson was active and scored. Hamilton scores in .17 seconds. WOW Very enjoyable and entertaining game for the start of the season. I expect more excitement and wins to come. Go Devils

That whole era of their commercials was fantastic, love the one about never leaving a game early and the bear is waiting at the bottom of the escalator in case you do lol This one...

This conversation reminded me of that old Bruin commercial.

Wow that ceiling is really bad (if you click on the photo, you will see just how bad the damage really is). That’s the kind of thing you get taken care of very VERY quickly. Overall, I still think The Rock is a fine building and a great place to watch hockey, but parts of it are ready for some TLC and refreshing. The former Fire and Ice Lounges have been discussed…those designs never looked as cool as the renderings did and they wound up feeling plastic, cheap and dated rather quickly, but their “safer” replacements are bland and sterile to a fault. I haven’t been in the bathrooms lately, but they’ve been a sore spot for a while now. Not sure if that was ever addressed.

Rather than sticking this in the Prospects thread I thought it was worth having its own thread. Utica's first game of the season tonight against the Rochester Americans. Lines for tonight: Been a lively game so far! 3-2 comets at the end of the first. Holtz has a goal , Tyce Thompson has two assists with Okhotiuk with the first.

Comets up 6-2 now. They have their share of AAAA players on that team, but that team could have a big year in the A.

It’s sad either way. It’s quite a commentary on addiction, guy was an NHL player, had a family, but “having it all” wasn’t enough to overcome it. Very sad. RIP.

I was at a game a few seasons ago and a few ceiling tiles fell 50-60 feet and smashed into the "blank" section where they put the giant vinyl devils logo. Sounded so loud I thought a bomb was going off, imagine if they fell on someone in the audience

One of my theories is with photographers themselves. They use these DSLRs to sell the images. (Or the arenas think they do.) The other is that one day one of the security chiefs was working the entrance from the box office. He tried to keep me from bringing it in, but I was up the camera rules at the time. I got in with the camera but the rules changed the next year. Also it seems to be at the arenas. I took a trip up to Montreal they wouldn't let me bring the camera in so I ended up taking several pictures of the Habs and Red Wings lining up for Face-Offs with the phone. They came out ok but everytime I tried to take action photos they came out blurry because the camera phones at the time had too slow a shutter speed.(I'm not sure with the improvements to the camera phones they still can't match the shutter speed and Hi ISO of a DSLR. I tried to bring in a DSLR to MSG for Black Sabbath on their The END tour. I brought a cheap point and shoot in. I managed to get good shots because it took me awhile to get the settings I need. So why don't I do the same thing for the Devils? When I saw Black Sabbath they are old like me. 😀 They just stand around and play. (Their hands were a little blurry because they are moving faster than the shutter speed) They don't skate at 30 mph or unleash 100mph slap shots.😎

Yeah Thanks. Yeah I've seen it. It's a little more than I want to spend. If I was going to spend that kind of money, I'd get a newer DSLR. Then I'd still be in the same boat as far as taking pictures at the Rock.

I got curious. Last time we had 5 20+ goal scorers was 2012. I mean I’m available…

When we drafted him, he looked like his mom was still taking him for haircuts and making sure that he showered. Now he looks like a kid that went away for college and he has to take care of himself and he’s failing miserably.

As expected, there's no point even showing it when you can just walk in with a mask and take it off as soon as you hit the escalators anyway. Is what it is.

Those plastic bracelets that were the giveaway yesterday really should be axed. It's an absolute waste of money and the vast majority are being tossed right into the garbage. Just doesn't seem worth the waste for people to use them for a whopping like 3 minutes during the pre-game with some flashing lights.
