I kinda wish they’d have let Ruff choose his own coaching staff instead of saddling him with these guys.6 points

While we’re at it, can Marty work with Blackwood on his rebound control? Much more productive use of his time than designing terrible jerseys.6 points

Went with other on “most disappointing” - - has to be Nico for me. Ty has also sucked, but the term sophomore slump exists for a reason, and defense is a tougher position for young players. I’m much more irritated with our 5th year captain who has 2 goals in 21 GP, and has had way too many nights where he was barely noticeable. I used to think Ryan Nugent-Hopkins was Nico’s absolute floor, but at this point it’s looking more like that could be his ceiling. I know he’s only 22 (turns 23 next month), but I expected a lot more from him this season.4 points

Maybe it’s just because I’m in a sh!tty mood that I’m gonna say it this pointedly, but I don’t care- this has nothing the fvck to do with Hughes. He’s played two games out of position after missing a month and a half. If you watched these games and understand what the fvck you’re watching, you should know damn well what the actual problems are.4 points

If Fitz didn’t learn a lesson from watching Shero basically lose his job due to being overly loyal/patient with Hynes then that’s on him if history repeats itself.3 points

Hard to kill Siegenthaler for not having a mean streak, he fits right in with almost everyone else on the team. We don't have any nasty SOBs who take a regular shift. PK throws a nasty slew foot once in a while.3 points

also, instead of blaming literally everything on the 20 year old in his 2nd game back from major injury how about some accountability for the guy in your profile pic? Nico has had like 2 games out of 20 where he was worth a damn this season, and here you are jumping on Jack and his “fan boi’s” seriously wtf?3 points

That's the weird thing uh. You'd think as a veteran HC coming in into a situation and you're given your assistant coaches. You'd be like "okay i'll take them but if it doesnt work i want my men (whoever they are). And well, they are simply not bringing in the results. They simply aren't and NAS straight up never brought results. He's been bad the whole time he was here. I truly but truly don't understand how he still has a job.3 points

Yeah that hard practice really seemed to make an impact Lindy. Try again. Maybe start with sh!tcanning your worthless bench mates.3 points

So it's allowed to dive into players legs without the puck? Looks sort of a trip AND interference to me but wtv3 points

They need a fvcking wake up call. Too many games now where they’re no-shows for good portions of the game. I’ve fvcking had it with that sh!t.3 points

When players aren’t put in the best position to succeed, gotta start to wonder about the coaching staff. And I’m doing more and more of that.3 points

Good polls, a lot of tough choices. I went with Bratt as the best...he's really stepped up and at times been very dynamic, but not like Hamilton or a couple of others are any less deserving. Johnsson as my most surprising...we we practically begging Seattle to scoop him up in the expansion draft. Some were upset when Bastian was taken instead of him. Severson as my worst...obviously you can make an argument for Ty, but I'm giving him a pass for now for two reasons: 1) Sophomore slump/still very young, and 2) fvcking nASS is not the guy to be mentoring anyone. But Severson has been in the league for how long? He's had his share of defenders for years (at times I was absolutely one of them), but maybe at the end of the day, he's simply just not good? Most disappointing...I went with Sharangovich, but I could have just as easily picked just about anyone on the list. Blackwood is looking more and more like a guy who's going to run too hot and cold to be a true #1. Makes us all realize yet again what we all had in Brodeur...so many kids come up and look promising, but never truly put it all together, or are simply exposed as not being anything special. I get the feeling Blackwood's heading towards "Future 25-or-so-game backup who occasionally fills in as a #1 in a pinch" territory. I thought the Devils record would be a little better, but that's based on expectations (hopes) before the season began. If someone had told me that Hughes was going to miss 17 games (and other players would miss some games), I would've felt differently. I don't think the Devils will make the playoffs, but I really hope that they do. I think the Devils are still in "Let the season die on the vine if Plan A doesn't work out" mode. If they want to give Ruff more time with different assistants (let him choose them...as the HC, if you're behind him, let him do that), I can live with it...it sucks, in that the Devils have tried the "Young coach we'll let grow into the job" route, AND the "Let's bring in an experienced vet" approach...neither has worked out. nASS still being here for as long as he has been is a complete joke...do we ever get to the punchline? Something I was thinking about...obviously young players can come up and wow initially and then never build off that early success (or regress), but damn that seems to happen here a lot. Remember how good Severson looked initially? Butcher? Smith? Are the Devils just really that bad at developing players at the NHL level?2 points

“Derr, you are [insert name calling] because I have no emotional or social intelligence and don’t understand what you said”….you can basically copy this template for every one of your posts. You’re welcome. Do you think them currently having the best record in the western conference early in the season means a team cannot make them look better than what they are? They aren’t cup contenders. Take your meds before posting.2 points

We could really use the Miles Wood of a few years ago. Not necessarily the constant running of goalies, but just that he always played with an edge. He kind of toned it down after he got suspended that one time, but even still, we’re definitely missing him.2 points

Lol now the team takes exception?? Wild play to the last second and we barely showed up for 90 mins. Hang your heads boys, you're looking foolish now2 points

He needs time, but more importantly, needs to be played at CENTER.2 points

Fitz…no one wants to see yet another season punted away. Address the coaching situation please…2 points

We wanted the cheap discount option and we got it. Gallant and Laviolette both interviewed and weren't considered likely because they asked for too much.2 points

This is one of those nights when Fitz needs to call the Three Stooges info his office and ask “What the fvck are you guys doing? Can you coach this team or not?”2 points

yeah and that's when i wish we had journalists willing to ask those harsh questions rather than what we have which is just... people asking friendly questions to create content for the team2 points

The last couple of weeks really. Yeah, didn’t we figure out that Jack as a wing was dumb previously?2 points

I like Fitz, but I’m sorry, if you’re just going to sit back and continue to not address what SORELY needs addressing, that’s a big fvcking problem. How much of the same sh!t does he need to see?2 points

Yeah i wish Fitz could see that wtv system our assistant coaches are trying to get going are just not working, it's very clear. And i'd like to see him to do something about it sooner than later rather than wait until we hit rock bottom. Nas never worked and he never will, let's get someone else for the love of god2 points

To me bust is a Matteau or Quenneville. McLeod is more of a disappointment so far. I do think he sticks as an NHL player though.2 points

dunno who you're apologizing to... you'll have very few detractors2 points

It not, but tbf a lot of this is on the players. Graves has been posterized twice already, Nico is flubbing shots or over passing on the PP, Bratt missing the net on a prime chance, etc.2 points

Not a hot take i assume but from what i've seen this year. Mercer to me is a way better player than Nico and would be a better captain.1 point

I’ve always been of the belief that you hire the coach and then let him make the coaching decisions, including who he chooses for the coaching staff. If you don’t trust your head coach to make those decisions, why even hire him?1 point

It’s absolutely mystifying in every way. He was a trash player, and he’s a trash coach. I have no idea what he’s done to earn this amount of rope.1 point

Not giving up on the players, But this coaching staff is starting to wear me down some. Constantly same mistakes game after game.1 point

What has it been? At least 3 years we have been complaining about this, the backdoor passes, the weak D in front of the crease and not clearing guys out. We used to say "well obviously the coaches aren't telling them to leave guys open on the back door" ...well okay but now 3 years later and bunch of new guys on the back end with the same fvcking issues, is it time the coaches start to answer for why it keeps happening over and over? EDIT: I'm really over this lazy, lethargic, uninspired play that leads to attempts to come back in the last 10 min of the 3rd. Play the entire game and you won't have to mount 3rd period comebacks. Why are they coming out early in games and not showing up?1 point
