You know what I’m even more pissed off about with the season ending like a morning after binge drinking capped off with Taco Bell? the fact we knew we were dead, but still trotted out sh!tty veterans on expiring deals or hurt instead of giving guys call ups and chances to see what they have against actual talent. DeSimone was claimed, played relatively well, but was repeatedly scratched for my favorite player. Tierney and Nosek brought next to nothing all year but hey, give them one last game instead of Clarke or anyone. the decisions made by the staff of this year might seriously never stop to piss me off well into the summer

Luke played in all 82. He had his ups and downs, but all in all, it was a very good rookie season for him.

I'm so burned out from all the missteps this season. Hopefully by the draft I can enjoy it again. Green needs to announced he's not being retained tomorrow. Same with the staff. Really hoping Nico goes off about changes needed.

I really hope the next coach gives Nico - Timo, and gives Jack - Bratt, PERMANENTLY. I’m so sick of the line blender approach.

I'm mostly happy that this damned "Limbo" period will finally be over. Green & Co should be relieved of their duties no later than by week's end, AFAIC...there is NOTHING to evaluate here. Groan is as much of a fraud of a HC as Lindy and should be jettisoned, end of story.

It would be fun to see the Devils somehow derail both the Flyers AND Isles as this season winds down. Just because.

I heard this might the be the last time we see this black jerseys (3 yr agreement). I'm for it. Our record in these are awful and I wouldn't mind seeing the stadium jerseys as a third alt.

Oh and Markstrom is really finishing this season on a whimper...he's put up an .869 save% over his last 9 starts, and his season save% is down to .906. Over his last four seasons he's put up a .907 save%, 7.8 GSAA, and .536 QS%. Basically this grades out to about average. So sorry Fitz, Markstrom can't be the guy who's tasked with solidifying the Devils' goaltending. He's been way too all over the place the past four years, and he ain't getting any younger...he's not an acceptable Plan B, and hopefully Fitz won't see him as such.

Ryan McGill cannot be here anymore after Monday. I refuse to believe that Marino is this bad, and Luke and Nemec deserve better than to be brought down by Smith and Siegenthaler, respectively.

Only four more of these left to play. Devils have obviously been toast for weeks, but once the Metro3 and WC2 slots are filled by teams with 88 points or more, that's officially (mercifully) it. If any of you see a bald guy wearing a red Bratt jersey (it's a pre-Adidas, as it's from his first Development Camp) riding the Zamboni before the third period...yep, that will be me. A bud of mine's wife won tix and the Zamboni ride for two, and since she has less than zero interest in hockey, we're going. Think I'm more interested in that than the game itself. Oh well, guess I'd love to see Bratt reach 80 points (he'll occasionally look disengaged but he looks like a guy who as long as he's healthy will put up 70-80 points by season's end in his prime years). Maybe Jack can reach 80 as well, if he's not sat down early. BTW Nico has 179 points over his last 179 GP...70 G and 109 A (or 32 G and 50 A per 82 GP). And he's a fine 200 ft player and he plays tough minutes, and this was about what his top end was projected to be coming out of the draft; 1OAs can't ALL be 100+ point dynamic types. He's a fine player and a great Devil. Just hope that his prime years aren't wasted here. L G D

I don't think we have to worry about Joel Quenneville coming here. Especially after being the only team with 2 players involved in the Hockey Canada case, it would be a completely ridiculous move to bring Quenneville in.

Signing Lindy to that extension put him in a very bad spot. Hard to admit that you might have made a mistake that early. But like has been said 1000000 times on here, he absolutely waited too long.

Speaking of Luke…one mutant behind me was complaining about how much Luke sucks, that he’s only here because of Jack, and why did Fitz even trade for him (I kid you not about that last part). Think I had to count to 10 at least once.

I still think hockey can work in Phoenix if done properly but it was time to pull the plug on what they were doing. The solution with 5 year window to reactivate the franchise seems fair.

I didn’t mind ties at the time, but they’re never coming back. We’re likely stuck with shootouts. As for three-point wins, it’s more about de-emphasizing loser points. I like the idea of a team winning a game in regulation one night picking up TWO points on a team that could only muster a charity point. I’m simply over teams who pile up loser points getting to hang around as much as they do. It’s also about every game having the same number of points up for grabs. Right now some games dole out three points and others two. That’s just dumb.

Looked like Dummy just went after him. Nemec didn’t even do much of anything, but Matthews had it under control. There was no reason at all for Dummy to intervene. fvck him and his dad. @Jimmy Leeds agree, Devils need a player or two who will be willing to go after guys who hit the Devils’ stars. Too many opponents have gotten away with that.

I will continue to disagree with this. He doesn’t take penalties, he doesn’t ever get straight up burned (his recovery speed is too good), it’s his play with the puck that he needs to clean up.

Btw Luke’s 46 points now matches Severson’s career best season. When you factor in that Luke hardly ever takes penalties it’s already such an upgrade.

Really goes to show you how special of a player Jack is. He was winning games for the team early in the season, and especially last season. He likely singlehandedly kept Lindy afloat for so long. But injured Jack couldn't quite do it, despite still being the team's best player. Hoping for a speedy recovery for him.
