A Hallmark card might do better than the current goaltenders. On your latter note, I agree. I think our young guys that are getting named as possible pieces are really good and wouldn't want one to go for anyone other than maybe Saros. Definitely not Markstrom.

I am weary of Ullmark because I am not sure if there is something about how Boston plays that really helps him and JS. When Ullmark played on a worse team, where he was more exposed, he wasn't able to steal games. He looked average at best. Just not sure how much of Ullmark now is his own growth or him being the beneficiary of a good system, good team play, and splitting the workload. NJ has shown to be not as good defensively but also plays a high risk transition game. I got no idea though, so yea sure... Ullmark. Let's do it.

Also, to add to the sh!t list, like @Lateralous said on the MacDermid thread this guy was just brought in because they get pushed around so much(especially against the Rags). Why did it take until February? It was obvious last season the team needed someone like that.

Even with as bad as the staff have seemingly been, I would still have not believed you if you told me before the game they'd pull the goalie and not send out the extra man.

If the price for a goalie was too high and he didn't want to compromise the future then I get that. What I don't get, like many, is that you'd need to be blind to have not seen the team sliding all year. It wasn't just injuries and bad goaltending, either. Nothing happened. Nothing changed. Just kept doing the same things and expected different results. I've mentioned before that two seasons ago this team had atrocious goaltending and needed 7 goalies or something to get through the season... But they looked good. That team could transition like no one's business and score on the rush like some of the top offensively skilled teams in the league; just couldn't get a save to save their lives. Does this team look like that one? Just can't get a save? I don't think so. I think they look lost. They've looked completely lost all season. Rock bottom looked inevitable since December and I am shocked Fitz did nothing to stop it. I can't believe whatever was holding him back was worth losing the entire season.

I can't imagine Askarov isn't in Trotz's long term plans at this point. Saros is prob more available but the timing prob isn't right because Askarov isn't ready yet.

How many times is it not the coaches fault, but the coach gets canned to make the change because you gotta do something and it creates results. It's part of the job. The fact they held pat on lindy is fvcked. It wouldn't have fixed the goalie issues but the team might have woken up. The season before last the team played great but couldn't get a save and went through like 7 goalies. You could see the team was there, they were good, they just couldn't get a save. This season they do not look like that team from 2 seasons ago. That team with Andrew Hammond in net could probably wax the floor with these guys. Long post to say, yea I agree.

Yea, I don't give a sh!t about any of that. Actions would go a lot further with me than putting him in an uncomfortable situation where he has to sit in front of a camera and answer questions we already know the answers to, and that change nothing, about this disappointing, in the toilet, season. Does nothing for me. Firing Ruff would do a lot more.
