There is a huge gap in talent now with like 40% of our starting roster on the injured list. But I Loved watching Blandisi, Boucher and even Helgesen get the playing time to develop. I hope that DSP doesn't revert back to his "normal" numbers in his career and just adds to his confidence level too. Overall, I think we are on the right path. Love what the new management has done to bring winning hockey back to NJ. Looking forward to seeing Zacha next year.

It takes a few years for young defensemen to adjust to the NHL level. They will both be fine in time. I honestly think our blueline will be the bedrock of the franchise in the next few years.

Yes, I do. Back in November, when he was seeing some PP time he was starting to play with confidence. He was one of the better Devil forwards in terms of transition. The points weren't there but he was starting to acclimate to the pro game, then they stopped playing him and he never got a chance to grow off that. I don't know if he had an attitude problem or what but, I really think with the proper experience he will be a 40 point player but with some leadership intangibles. Time will tell, but I think we gave up on him too soon. The DeBoer debacle hurt him more that Larsson.

While its true you are not giving up assets, but what you are doing is creating a poor culture and a stunting the growth and good habits of biggest assets: your young talent. 2012 was an aberration; Gionta, Carter and Bernier were equally as important as Parise, Zajac, Elias and Kovy. Bryce Salvador leading NHL Defensemen in playoff scoring???? Aside from blip of 2012 success the Kovy years were a disaster and caused the team culture to crumble. We have a clean slate now, Shero has embarked on a new era in Devils hockey and the potential for greatness is here, why would you destroy this with bad chemistry?

Gentlemen, I have never left. Just tend to be less active these days aside from our NJDevils Fantasy sports groups. I heard the news and immediately wanted to make sure the fantasy world didn't enter the conversations in the real world. Its not emotional it financial and long term success driven. I don't want to pay $8-10 million a year on a broken down 40 point player who can only play half of the ice. Not a good role model for the younger kids who need to learn how to win.
