  1. Everyone knows the league is taking over the section to give it to Rangers fans.
  2. I watched the Devils - Hurricanes 2009 Game 7 highlights in the 2nd intermission of our Panthers Game 7 this year to remind me not to feel overconfident until it's over and we survived. Watching a 1994 Devils - Rangers video won't kill you, it will remind you why you want revenge. The possibility of a Devils - Rangers ECF already crossed my mind when we were up 2-1 against the Flyers. I came to the same conclusion someone mentioned: it's high risk - high reward. Then again, it's been 18 (eighteen!) years since those two last met in the conference final, so who knows when another chance for payback comes by. And the ONLY way to make them feel what Devils fans felt in 1994 is defeating them in the ECF and winning the Cup.

    Conference Finals

You live in Carolina, right? Those games start at 2 a.m. where I live. I'm happy with how this schedule is shaping up, actually. I don't have to get up early on Tuesdays or Thursdays, so Mon and Wed games are perfect for me. Round 1 schedule was a disaster.
  4. I'm extremely glad and proud they did it! The past few springs were far too short for the Devils and not many anticipated a change this year. I fully expected the Devils to beat the Panthers and then go out in the 2nd round. Game 1 of the Flyers series only cemented my pessimism. Boy, am I glad it all changed. The 2nd period of Game 2 made me believe we can beat Philly, though I was afraid we would blow it. Game 3 turned me into an optimist altogether (but still a bit cautious). It's just tremendous how far teamwork and discipline can take you. The boost you get in cofindence in your team after it wins a series you expected them to lose in five games is unbelievable.
  5. Just a step away from the Conference Final... Who would've thought? What better gift for Marty for his 40th birthday? Devils rule!!!
  6. Absolutely awesome night! This is already the best payoff run we've had post-lockout and it's kinda crazy to think that we have a good shot at reaching the conference final! That win was huge for the Devils (and their fans as well) psychologically. First of all, we can push the Flyers to the brink of elimination in game 4. Who would've thought? Secondly: if the Flyers win this thing in OT, this is an enormous psychological edge for them next time this series goes to overtime. Not to mention that this Kovy hits the post - Flyers score sequence in the 3rd would haunt us all in our nightmares. And the third thing: even if we lose game 4, this is still a tied series that goes at least six games. So, basically, the win in game 3 guaranteed the Devils are in it no mater what. Zach was absolutely amazing. He's everywhere. He's fast, dynamic and he makes this team going. You can just see how engaged he is and how much fun he is having out there, especially during the celebrations. Great come back by Kovy, too. Unbelievable what a difference a few days off can make. Marty, unfortunately, looked more like the 40-yo Marty rather than vintage Marty (oh, those bad angle shots). The good thing is, the Devils still won with him having a bit of a rough night and the probability says we'll see the good ol' Brodeur sooner than later. Can't describe how happy I was with the win last night. It would've been a shame had they lost a game like that. Absolutely awesome night! 7. LOL, is it real? If so, did they make it for the Devils series or the Rangers - Flyers Winter Classic?
  8. A win tonight would be huge, our first series lead since being up 1-0 vs the Panthers. Also, we would put ourselves in a position to go 3-1... Just win! LGD! :koolaid:
  9. +1 This game showed me the Flyers are beatable. I don't know if it was about the Devils shutting them down defensively and tactically or it was just an off-night for the Flyers, but I was really excited last night. By far the Devils' best game of these playoffs. It's worth noting the Flyers haven't scored less than 2 goals in their previous games this postseason.
  10. Yeah, I found that line hilarious, too. I remember watching a Devils - Rangers game this season where, I think it was Sam Rosen, would just confuse Brodeur with Biron all the time (Biron was playing for the Rangers and the commentator was all over tha fact that there were two Martys playing goal ). That was annoying as hell.
  11. I had a dream last night we were up 3-0 in the series, LOL. It sort of reminds me that anything can happen in the playoffs. A lot of people (including me) were picking a Canucks - Penguins Stanley Cup final. Where are those teams now? Now the Flyers are the favourite and they might as well get upset. That being said, my rational pick is 4-1 Flyers. I hope I'm really, really wrong, but the Flyers seem like the higher and tougher version of the Panthers: very strong offense, even deadlier powerplay plus the tendency to actually beat people up. I just hope their goaltending will also be even shakier than the Panthers.

    I don't know why?

This. Just because people don't see the Devils as favourites in some series doesn't mean they hate them.
  13. Unbelievable series... Shouldn't have been this close, but we got the winner and that's what matters right now. Besides, we usually played the theoretically weaker teams in the playoffs and still managed to fail year after year, so there's progress. Where is 7 now??
  14. It's 6:07 a.m. here, LOL. Hell of a night/morning.
  15. Bashing the team JUST IN CASE? Creating a thread stating the team lost when we're going to OT? REALLY? And you call yourself a fan? This thread is just beyond pathetic. God, reading your posts remind me of why I have you on ignore.
  16. Hell no. He's the most overrated goalie in the NHL by far.
  17. It seems to me like the Devils need to find themselves under pressure to get their asses going. I heard a theory it's the Panthers style of hockey that sort of puts teams into sleep unless they find some offensive spark. I think there is something about it. The Devils came out flying in Game 1, then, when they knew they did their job on the road, they didn't show up in Game 2 (until period 3). They played their best game of the series when they were under pressure and they really needed a win. Then, with the series tied, they disappeared again. If that is indeed the case, then the disastrous Game 5 should be a wake up call for them and should push them to playing their best hockey. Marty's also known for bouncing back and he must be pissed after what he did last night. Be it the Panthers' style or some motivational problem (perhaps on the coaching side), clearly there's something wrong in terms of psychology with those players. The potential is clearly there and they showed they are capable of dominating Florida. I hope it's true that they just need their backs against the wall to wake the hell up and bring their A game. I believe we're going back to Sunrise on Thursday.
  18. Huge kill for us! And gotta love Zach's tenacity without the stick.
  19. Umm... You're sure? Watch Game 3 again and tell me any kind of lead makes you watch the rest of the game without nerves. What a great bounce back game from Marty! He has proven it in the past and he does it once again: he tends to rebound immediately after bad games and that's one of the qualities that made him a legendary goalie. I know there's still a lot of hockey left to play and Brodeur has much work ahead of him as well, but let's just celebrate right now. That win was HUGE for us last night. We'll worry about Game 5 on Saturday.

    WRITE IT DOWN

Check out Blur's "Beetlebum" song, you'll know what he had.
  21. Hopefully they'll be able to carry that energy from last game's 3rd period over to tonight and come out flying. LET'S GO DEVILS!!!

"What a save by Tanev! Omnomnomnom, what a save! (fap, fap fap)... did that puck end up in the net?" Man, how I LOVE watching the Canucks lose!
  23. This might be huge for us. Just end this thing already!
  24. Haha, looks like Dano got himself some Florida tan. ...and a playoff beard. Except this time, I'm afraid, he'll have to go back to shaving if the playoffs last long for us. LGD!!! It's finally the time!
