What a fun day to be able to watch the tournament. Nico and Severson with big goals, Schneider with a bunch of great saves, Hughes with a couple of assists and good minutes late in the game, and the Queen with the OT loss. Yes, a good day indeed!
Flyers hire Michel Therrien and Mike Yeo as assistant coaches to previously named head coach Alain Vigneault. Lots of head coach experience right there.
It's really a sight to see as soon as the network switches over to the game in Wiinnipeg. Not only is everyone dressed in white -- we all knew that already -- but ALL the fans are in their seats sitting patiently. Not a one is walking down the aisle with food in their hands or just plain late arriving. To a man, they are ALL there to see the game.
Palmieri's been trying hard to make up for lost time.
He had a decent shot off the goalie's pads just a few minutes earlier from a similar sharp angle.
Just before they went off the air just now, did Salvador say the refs apologized to the Devs for the double minor they called on Wood?
EDIT: nvm, i see someone already covered it
Hall has been an absolute joy to watch this season so far. He's the perfect choice to represent the team in the NHL ASG. I hope he lights it up.
Go Devils.
Preds just challenged and won Oilers' game-tying goal with about 5 minutes left in 3rd period. Teammates' toe barely lifted off ice as puck entered zone.
In addition to his stats, I see Palmieri as a heart-and-soul type player, i.e. his performance in the last game versus the Rangers. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I believe that with him being from the area and having an in-born sense of the local hockey passions, he gives it a little bit extra in big games.
They got outplayed in this one for the most part, but they didn't quit. It was close at the end. Can't be worried yet.
EDIT: Whoa, didn't realize we outshout them 42-33. Still feel like Dallas played better though.
