Anyway, in response to the post, I like Sutter I think he came in and tried to change a team that has been so used to their own way for the past few years that they forgot what it was like to play for someone not named Lou. The problem wasn't Sutter, the problem is the team trying to play a style that doesn't mesh with their skills, slowly I believe that will change though. I think this off season will be huge, just because I think now that we have played a year, the front office knows what we need and will hopefully try to get that in the draft, and with free agents. I'll wait until the end of September before I get pessimistic again, hopefully we get things done this off season and next year we can all crap ourselves at how good we actually did this year when you factor in everything.

I was bored and looking around on NHL.com. I noticed that looking at some of the players names like they were different..I was just wondering about this. Does the team have the names wrong, or does NHL.com like screwing with my mind. I know that Colin White is always shown as Colin John White, Tuomas Pihlman is now showing up as Juha Tuomas Pihlman, and Johhny Oduya is now showing as David Johnny Oduya. If anyone can enlighten me on WTF is up, I would really appreciate it.

I grow out my beard. I'm also trying to not jinx my other source of luck, and I can say its not my jersey, because once I had Whites name put on it...and that was when the streak we had after his return ended...it was probably because I had the A put on it.

I don't see the problem if they want to hand out red shirts, at least I can use that after the game. Would you rather them give out those towel things again, or the always favorite noise making sticks. I personally would love to see a red out at the playoff games, I think it would be awesome.

I find it really funny, I mean I get mad when people who don't know better make comments like that, but come on, In the 5 years Ive lived out of New Jersey, the only creative insult I've heard was that my friend went to Jersey once, he had to drive in traffic circles and deal with people driving with their feet, I love hearing the Jersey bashes, I hate how there is no diversity in them though. I kind of expected better from the Rangers though a team committed to winning so much, they go out and spend top dollar to bring that winning tradition to the city, if only the Devils were like them. (please note the extreme sarcasm, before I get flamed)

Is it me or should we at least give him one last shot, yeah its easy to say OH hes out of the lineup and we are now winning, but come on, Ive seen it all over here...just trust Lou, I mean he had to seen something there and from reading what people want here and watching how the seasons unfolded I'm going to say that the consensus on the form is right about 45% of the time. I mean he must have been kept for a reason, plus the way he gets beat up around here, I think Clarke or Bergfors or Vrana should have his spot sitting out every night. Who knows maybe if/when he does come back in spending all this time sitting out, and if he reads these forums I wouldn't be surprised to see if he plays the best game of his career out of spite. I don't know, maybe I think that hes not as bad as he is made out here, hes not a difference maker but hell I don't remember watching a game where he lost it for us...and Mottau has been forgiven for that mistake by a few people already. Did I miss something he did somewhere along the line, or is Rupp the new Scott Clemmenson? I mean I'm looking for a reason to hate the guy with the tenacity that some of you guys do, maybe I'm just mentally ill, but I don't see why he is hated and so many people want him off the team ASAP. We need a new starting bench?

Wasn't there an article posted somewhere about him playing in the minors because he was basically going to get conditioned so he could get used to the season, or was that a spin that was being put on this whole thing. I mean I haven't watched or seen him or anything but the way I've heard him described we have like one of the top 10 players who wasn't in the NHL, I mean I know I'm exaggerating but it sounded like that. Is there a chance he might end up like Clarkson...late season call up, who basically earned his spot on the team in his what was it 13 games?

I don't know, I think if these things actually do have an effect on the game, then I think I can get past the fact that they lose tradition, if the game itself improves because of it. I think everyone is WAY to biased against Reebok that no one is giving these jerseys a chance, I mean if the players like them and everything, then they aren't really gonna change, and there will be some rich man who will make money selling the old jerseys. I think the fact that the NHL is just trying to make everything all cookie cutter is what really takes away from this, like the design of the jersey itself just seems like its really hard for customization, and I'm convinced that like some of the teams worked on their jerseys for like 10 minutes, and then called it quits, but yeah, these jerseys don't seem right, I don't know what it is though.

I could be wrong, but I think Єklund (2.3% accurate) (2.3% accurate) was written about by Spector recently, I remember reading something about one of those bloggers. He was talking about how no one takes him seriously because he chooses to remain anonymous, but like there was pictures up of him. It was basically an article talking about how he is a real reporter (picture of him, his profile at a press conference, and another at I believe a Predators event). I don't know, I just remember reading about him, or at least something talking about one of the bloggers, and it was a good defense of him, basically talking about how the reason he hasn't been gaining acceptance by people is because he wants to remain anonymous. I was trying to look for the little article it was an editorial by Spector himself, but I cant find it at all right now. That being said, even if Peca signs with the rangers, they might just demote players to the minors, and don't they have pretty decent defensive prospects. Plus, cant they also do what we did with Matvichuck last year if he does get injured, I mean its high risk, but so is giving Gomez $10 million dollars for 1 year.

Hey I'm going to start a topic speculating on what I'm reading is the best topic Ive seen posted about, the one that everyone loves, the new Jersey, or more so, whats going to be on it. I write this now, the area in parenthesis is a preemptive strike for my own defense, not to start with anyone, its just that from what Ive seen I get the feeling that someone will point out a post that went nowhere, and talks about nothing and make me feel like I am the lowest form of life because I asked a question (yeah I'm posting this because I want to see how many people I can make have an aneurysm from the aggravation of another jersey topic [i am also apologizing now because I did check the first few pages of the forum, and Ive only really seen things about the Jersey itself, not whats going to be on it, so if you are getting angry because this is the what 5th post about this, or the Jersey or whatever, please as I have stated have an aneurysm from the aggravation]) Most of what Ive been reading talks about how different you think the Jerseys are going to be, and how the logo will be the same, but what I haven't been reading a lot of is like, the logo itself, nothings gonna happen, am I the only person that kind of wants to see like a shoulder logo added? I was thinking about how cool like something along the lines of the Lowell logo or a modified version of that would look on the shoulders of a devils jersey, I mean if you look at it, that L could be morphed into a J, and then shrunk. (Along the lines of the old River Rats jersey) I was just wondering, because I know everyone's been saying that they don't want to see anything changed, but I know that I, and a few other people I know find the Lowell logo to be awesome. Anyone else want any like minor changes like that, or am I the only one?

I don't know, maybe its because I really started to get into hockey during the 2003 Playoffs, and I saw a video of him in a fight and stuff but I'm gonna have to say Corey Schwab simply because of memories.

Not really the most exciting thing ever, but I thought it was cool...lol, but the Devils were the featured article on Wikipedia today. For the record its been a boring day for me, so level with me on this, lol.

If they do make a new song, its gotta be something that can make the crowd go crazy. I like Ole, but its too soccery (to make up a word), its not hockey enough. I think they need to go something to connect with the fans and the team, like isn't the goal horn in Phoenix paired up with a coyote howling. Something like that, or like blast Highway to Hell or something that has some meaning. Though the thing is, like Ole, Ole, Ole, and the other one just get the fans pumped. I like ole, but I wish they did something that went a little more with a team vibe, that to me would make it really unique.

I really don't want the Ducks to win. Sure I have nothing against Scotty but I never want to see him win a Stanley Cup again. If he left at a different time I might think differently, but I really would love to see maybe a San Jose Stanley Cup victory. I'm hoping that maybe Buffalo loses again, but thats just more because I would find it funny, I think that while the Sabers are good, they are on the highly over rated side, I feel like that against Ottawa, but they are both good teams, so as far as the east goes I could care less, but I want San Jose to rebound and win it all.

Does anyone else have me ultra optimistic attitude of.... Lou will be able to free up enough space, and Gomez will want to play here bad enough he will take a hit on his contract, for like 4.5 million, and also then use all the increased cap space to go after Drury, who would then come on, and this would allow a trickle down effect in players, to increase the playing level of all the lines. Then we go after improving defense with everything thats left... ...anyone, I mean personally I see this happening(in a dream world where Stevens and Daneyko never retired, and Niedermayer [sp?] never left, and there was no salary cap)

I know this is my first post here(and I'm trying to not set the wrong image of myself up here), and I don't want anyone to think bad of me for this. Ive been trying to take in as much hockey as I could since 2003, and I by no way consider myself a source for anything, but after watching tonights game, is it wrong that I feel that the Devils have no chance of winning another cup with this current team that they have had the past couple of years...or is this really just the Devils lack of consistent coaching. I mean just watching it, there doesn't seem to be anything there offensively or defensively, and if there is they pass it away, literally. Maybe I'm just being pessimistic, but I wanted to know if anyone else thinks, or feels the same way I do about this. Can anyone reassure me that its not the team, its something else that is just working against them?
