Living in Florida, I've seen next to nothing of him this season, but his skating has always been an odd case. You'd almost think he was a converted forward. Skates perfectly fine on the attack, but he can't turn and get his backwards stride going. You'd think this is something a skating specialist could work on.

Meh, they played a very good team in the finals and had them on the ropes. Roy had a great period and that Adam Foote thing happened. I don't think you can understate what they did to the Pens. They snuffed an inspirational narrative. That series was like Rudy ending with him getting decapitated and his severed head getting kicked through the uprights.

Two things: 1) For any post 2005 lockout fan, the Domi thing must blow their minds. Although having Nieds out at that point of the game was dumb. That does seem like his type of game, though, bigger rink, sh!tty defensemen, but then again the regimented nature of that might not work out.

He's still what, 24? Have to figure he's done in NA for the time being, he could possibly "get it" and come back eventually, he has the set to be a poacher, hell those guys don't even necessarily have to be good defensively, just have some anticipation of where the puck's going to go.

I really think Tedenby can play in the NHL, but it has to be on a different type of team. It won't work here with a half-court possession game. It would help if he understood the concept of defense, though, because with his speed he could be one of those poacher guys.

They went 16-27 in Schneider's games, he ended with a sub 2 GAA. I think that qualifies as a chance to coach with good goaltending. It's a mistake unless something in the process is going to change.

I don't see how people can be slagging what Jagr's doing, whether it's just writing him off as being "old" or "tired" or whatever. Without him, this team is an utter joke. He shouldn't have had to be nearly what he was this season. That's how much of a mess the organization is right now. Whatever the guy says in his exit interview, they should listen very closely. IMO the staff needs to be cleaned out. If you want a place at the table for Barr, that's fine, but I'm not sure where he fits in. IMO the office needs to be cleaned out too, but I'm a realist there. There's no threats in the organization and there hasn't been one since Sutter skipped town. Marty? He'd have to be pretty PO'd to shank Lou and even then, I'm pretty sure that isn't better.

There's no comparison between this and that. They were mindbogglingly bad. This team tries, they just suck. I remember trying to convince myself they had a chance at the end of November where they won that shootout game against the Flyers where the mighty Adam Mair scored. Then December came.

Whoever that goalie was should have killed himself. Parise doesn't score off his shot. He's a garbageman, without the rules changes he'd be a John Madden type on the wing, who plays D and gets you in transition.

I agree with you in principle on the top part, but the second contract wasn't registered until the labor negotiation was completed. It was a bit sketchy.

I think with that pick, we could have made a decent run at Vanek. I'm not sure of the value of the kid they got, as opposed to one of our defensemen, but we really had no chips yesterday. That we did anything without giving up much of value was a miracle

It's a King Solomon ruling. It's nice but it's not great. Maybe it let us keep players, but at the same time doing it this way cost us yesterday

I just think it's a big risk to roll him out there that much without a first round pick, because if something happens it goes right off the cliff. I don't think it makes any sense on any front unless someone makes a really stupid offer.
